February discussion book?

Since February is a short month to begin with, and we're discussing January's book late, we're only three weeks from February discussion day!

I thought I remember seeing a thread about it, but not a vote or anything.  But I may very well have just missed it.  Did we pick something to read and discuss?  I don't even know what genre we're on.

Re: February discussion book?

  • The best I could find was this post about the monthly reads, but since we did PNR in January, I think we are a month behind.  If that's correct, I think it's Fantasy for February, and Romance for March.  That said, fantasy can sometimes be pretty lengthy, so it might not be great for February.  We could also give ourselves Feb/Mar to do it or just keep length in.

Or truly, we can pick any genre!  Either way, I think we should do two months out so peeps have time to pick up their books and be able to participate.

  • Do we have to stick with a genre?  We could just do a post asking for suggestions?

  • I'm good with picking 2 books and discussing later to allow time to read. I like the genre idea to get me out of my comfort zone, but I'll vote for any book. I think I'm the only person on here who hasn't read Me Before You yet, since that's going to be a movie in March, could that later be a discussion, perhaps movie vs. book for those who go see it?
  • I'm cool with any book/genre that will keep us all discussing.

  • If we want to stick with a certain genre to get people out of their comfort zone, I say we do romance because PNR and Fantasy are similar, IMO.

I watched the trailer yesterday.  All the feels. I cannot wait for the movie.
