NMMR: Dallas and Denton recommendations

I'll be going to TX next month.  Spending a day or two in Denton and then Dallas.  Anything I should do as a tourist when I am there?  JFK stuff is already on the list for Dallas.  One of the days in Dallas will be a Sunday so hopefully there are enough things open.

TIA for your suggestions!

Re: NMMR: Dallas and Denton recommendations

  • I can't remember, but do you have kids? Our last trip to Dallas was completely kid centered, so I can give you a lot of ideas if you are interested. Otherwise I will try to remember what we did the times before :) and will you have a vehicle? (Although for Texas Dallas actually has a decent rail system to help you get around)

  • Oh, one of the things I thought of is the historic Fort Worth stockyards. There is a ton to do. Bands and a rodeo every weeken. Every day (like 11&4) they do a cattle drive down the Main Street. Also on the weekends they will have gun fights and shows like that going on. There are a lot of bars and restaurants around there, including one that was used in some major movie/ tv show, but I'm blanking on it right now.

  • @curiouskiddosmama no kids.  We'll probably get a car since we need to go out to Denton (for a wedding).  Going to a rodeo sounds like fun!
