Don't know if I'd go that far but part of me wonders if this is still happening to get Clinton in and for the Rs to look crazy. If it is a Clinton vs trump nomination I think those debates would be just as crazy

  • I will vote Clinton and I encourage you all to for the following reason: If she doesn't win, we are doomed for another 16 years before a good Republican can be elected.  If Trump wins, we'll give him a second term because historically we like to reelect presidents, particularly if they weren't preceded by a president of the same party.  So that's 8 years.  Then tag on another 8 for a Dem because people will be completely (and hopelessly) worn out on Republicans after Trump.  I'd say that's a liberal estimate, because Trump may completely destroy the party and no one may want to elect a Republican again for decades.

If we elect Clinton, she will make a very nice one term president.  Historically we don't like to reelect a president who was preceded by a president on the same party.  We don't let a party have the executive branch for more than 12 years.  So that would mean another 4 years, and then maybe the Republicans will have learned their lesson and will nominate a good candidate.

And on the Christie front, I give you this article.  And it doesn't even include all the back and forth about 9/11 or national security.  What an asshole.  He probably sees that the only way he could possible have a political career again is to be a VP.  http://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/6-times-christie-slammed-trump-—-before-endorsing-him/ar-BBq3GVv?li=BBnbcA1

She illegally stored and transmitted classified information on a private
email server with virtually no security at all. The fact that the server
lacked the security and tools to even determine if a security breach of
it occurred is another serious problem since classified information is
never permitted to be stored in a manner where this is the case.
Physical security is also almost certainly an issue. Even the hard
drives of workstations used to handle classified data are locked in a
safe when not under appropriate supervision.

    2. Instructed staff in writing to remove the classified markings from documents and to
send the documents to her outside secure channels. Just removing the
markings or conspiring with another person to do so is a felony all by
    itself.

    3. Deleted roughly 30,000 emails on a server being
sought by the FBI in the course of a criminal investigation which is
without a doubt obstruction of justice and destruction of evidence. If
I, or any of you reading this post, deleted any information off of a
computer server or system being sought in a federal criminal probe we
would without a doubt be indicted, tried, and in all probability
    convicted and jailed for it.

Even if, through blatant DOJ and White House corruption, she avoids indictment and trial her actions are so blatantly criminal and so obviously incompetent in virtually all
    respects.

I understand what you mean, but I'm not wiling to play so many "what-if" games and spend my vote on Hillary. I realize that voting results tend to trend in certain ways and cycles, but I think we're in new territory here...likely uncharted territory, which means anything could result.

And, I also agree with Cats, Hillary has not demonstrated competence or honesty, which are two great indicators of a good leader. I am not going to vote for her.

  • no way will I vote hilary - I would rather not vote.

Also how would be be certain Hilary would only be in for 4 years.  I think if she does get in, she would be there for 8.  I personally don't vote for someone that I don't trust and she has major trust issues with me.

  • I get it totally.  You have to vote your conscience.

Oh Hilary would most certainly be a one term president.  When was the last time we had 16 years of the same party?  Especially with such a terribly weak candidate.  Imagine the underhanded shit she'll amount with 4 years of a presidency.  Very easy to beat after the people have to deal with her for 4 years.

Well I wouldn't count it out.  It wouldn't surprise me.

  • I read an article that if Rubio fails they are going to put in Romney - gee that's a great idea cause it worked so well last time.

  • I'm starting to think/hope that maybe Biden will swoop in and save the day for all of us, especially if H gets indicted right after winning the nomination.

That sounds crazy, but Trump getting this far also sounded crazy 6 months ago.  Who knows?

I would vote for Biden.  I'm going to have a really hard time getting on the Hillary train.  But I don't know if she's worse than Trump for me.  She might not be.

Unrelated side note - the Bernie campaign HQs for Alabama are across the street from my office.  Yesterday they held a rally.  I had gone in to do some work and got absolutely nothing accomplished because the shouting was so loud.  Sigh.  I can't seem to get away from the "Feel the Bern" mantra.

I was on the hope that Biden would come in but now that Hilary seems to be getting the nomination I don't think that will happen.

Personally I'm now really annoyed with politicians so I'm thinking this will be the first year I actually vote 3rd party or write in a candidate.

I see a lot of people staying home this election cycle. Biden is horrible too. At least he doesn't seem to be an evil person or liar like Hillary.

I think it might be too late for Romney to come in. I don't know. I do think he would make a great president.
  • AL senator Sessions endorsed Trump today. He hasn't endorsed anyone in the 20 years he's been in the senate. I dont think the Romney thing will work either. I'm predicting a trump landslide on Tuesday.

H works with a couple of people who used to be on staff for Sessions.  You had better believe he's giving them a hard time for it.

  • Looks like Ben Stein is saying he may vote D for president for the first time.

  • If it's Trump vs. Clinton I think it will be a battle of who do people hate less.  I predict very low voter turn out.

I agree! I think most people will just stay out of that one.

I agree that people who don't love Trump will stay out of it and not vote. But, that's also why I think Trump will win the general election: not because he is chosen by the majority of Americans, but because the majority of Americans hate him and his alternative.

The weird thing is sometimes I think he might make a great president if he can just knock off the bullying. It's not cool or presidential. It's what is turning me off about him. I'm leaning Rubio/Kasich now. I had a moment when I was supporting Trump. I am not racist though. That's for sure!
