my girlfriend have power to request to destroy our embryo without my authorization?

My girlfriend have power to request in the clinic to destroy our embryo without my permission? If so how can I do?

Re: my girlfriend have power to request to destroy our embryo without my authorization?

  • I'd speak to the clinic and/or an attorney about that.  Other than that, I personally don't know much about fertility clinics.  Good luck.
  • :(

Louise Brown was born in 1978.

Wouldn't you think that most of these touchy grey areas would have been fixed by now?:(

Wishing you luck....there's got to be a family law/medicine attorney who is in the know -- check your bar association for referrals. Up here the county bar will give you 3 referrals for attorneys for $25.
  • Our clinic made us sign a giant stack of forms before we even started IVF and made embryos to determine:

    1. Who owns the embryos while we're both alive.
    2. Who owns the embryos in the event of a divorce.
    3. What happens to the embryos in the event of the father's death.
    4. What happens to the embryos in the event of the mother's death.

Hopefully you have similar paperwork you can find or get a copy of from the clinic, but I would also speak to a lawyer.
