My company is hiring!

Hey guys, the account I'm on has a full time but temporary position open that is legit work from home (not sales, no cold calling, no recruiting).

The position needs to be filled ASAP and will last through the summer with a possibility of it being turned into full time.  The team is great (and you would be working with me!!!!!) and we all work together and help each other out.

Here are the qualifications.  CVENT can be taught easily if you aren't familiar with it as long as you aren't scared by new technology.  The biggest skill (outside of customer service) is that you have to be very good and comfortable in Excel.  90% of our work is done in Excel, CVENT and emails.  You need to be able to do basic formulas (sum, division, etc.), format cells, filter, search, sort and the biggest thing you need to know is how to do a VLOOKUP.  If you don't know it but can learn easily it can be taught fairly quickly.

If you want more information PM me with your email address and I will forward the full job posting.

Qualifications

  • Previous meeting planning, hotel sales, and/or catering/convention services experience managing programs independently.
  • Knowledge of Cvent Meeting Management technology preferred
  • Direct client relations experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on strong Excel capabilities
  • Lotus Notes Database experience helpful
  • Relational database and/or Access database experience helpful
  • College Degree preferred
  • Travel industry and destination knowledge
  • Ability to quickly adapt to and learn new technology interfaces
  • Flexible to work outside normal business hours and weekends as necessary.

  • I'm not interested. But, I think it's cool you're posting it here.

Same - I think it's nice that you're posting it here!  And vlookups - once you know how to do them, they're priceless when you're working with data!  I'm not sure how I managed before learning.  :)

I know.  It makes my job so.much.easier.  I really can't put it into words how much time it saves me.

  • Although I'm not in the right field for your position, I do work with data a lot and think I'll need to teach myself this vlookup function!

I watched a ton of YouTube  videos but I could never replicate the results.  It took a coworker explaining things in a more common way for it to sink in.  Once I understood the parts of the formula I got it right away.  There were several important pieces that the tutorials kept leaving out.

Hmmm, good to know, thanks! A good learning opportunity if it comes up
  • Oh, @AprilZ81...thanks for posting this!  I'm actually super interested and my skill set and experience are very much in line with what they are looking for.

And, as I've mentioned, although I really like the company I am currently working for, my job is just not very stable (sigh).  I'll PM you my e-mail address right now.
