So what do you all think of Trump's choice of Pence? I don't know much about him even though I live in IL. I think he gives Trump some credibility, but I still won't vote for him.
Re: Pence?
Meh. Non-news as far as I'm concerned. First, the speech writer and Mrs. Trump sat down and discussed what Mrs. T wanted to say. In that meeting, Mrs. T made some remarks about how she liked FLOTUS' certain comments and how those remarks sounded/came across and how she'd like to send a similar message. The speech writer jotted this down and never went back to check it. But she put the notes in the speech. So, certainly poor writing and back-ground checking on the speech writer's part.
She offered her resignation, which Trump rejected.
Also, many politicians from both sides have "borrowed" things from one another. Even across the aisle. It can be fairly common. I don't think it's right to do so, however, the media frenzy over this topic is ridiculous. Obama has done this "speech borrowing" too.
It's just stupid that the media doesn't hold the same glaring light up to all speeches and lets many slide by regardless of content or possible "plagiarism."
Also, I think the Trump camp has enough venom toward the right and left establishments, that they wouldn't KNOWINGLY borrow from somebody's pervious speech.
I do believe that this was an honest mistake. Period. That said, I still don't like Trump. But, I have to call hog wash on all this media hype and hypocrisy.
Warning, snarky attack:
Trump could chose someone like Mother Theresa for his running mate, and I still wouldn't vote for him, lol. I don't know anything about his choice.
As for Melania's gaffe, I'm just impressed a trophy wife like that can even speak in multiple sentences all at one time.
I know this makes me sound prudish and stuffy, but I don't like the idea of the First Lady being a foreigner. I hate even saying that. I'm normally very UN-xenophobic. But I can't help it. I don't like it.
