Fri - early out from work; get a massage; run some errands and pick up the donated cookies for the community block party.  I don't know why they are trusting me with that job!  Relax in the evening at a free concert in the park by our house.  Start packing for Chicago!  Also people coming for a one night BnB stay.

Sat - Work on packing, clean up around the house and then working most of the day at the block party.  Going to a cookout birthday party in the evening.

Sun- fly out first thing in the AM for our 3 day Chicago trip!  Possibly meet up with my cousin that lives there for pizza.  Go on a brewery tour at Lagunitas and then Second City for a comedy show.

Mon and Tues- the weekend continues with our vacation.  Eat more pizza, boat tour, Cubs game, probably go to the art museum and much more!
  • I volunteered us to manage the website of a small nonprofit where I'm on the board, so I need to do some work before they send out an email solicitation scheduled for next week!

Otherwise, no solid plans.  I'm sure we'll go on a few long walks and my mom may come up.  Yesterday would have been my dad's 64th birthday so it's always a bit of a difficult week.

  • Friday - vacation day tiling the bathroom floor... not great but better than working! Dinner with DH's parents

Saturday - probably more tiling, grocery shop, laundry, clean the house

Sunday - afternoon party with DH's dad's side of the family, dinner with my aunt and cousin, meal prep for Monday.

  • DH is out of town so I need to take advantage of this and do some major organization of our house!

Friday - probably laundry and some cleaning

Saturday - our office and guest rooms have becoming dumping grounds for clutter. My goal is to find the floor! I'll probably take the dog to the park first so he's tired and not trying to "help" me while I clean lol

Sunday - baby shower in the morning and then shopping at the outlets with a few girlfriends afterwards. I kind of hate shopping but seeing as I finally wore a literal hole through my favorite black flats it's time they get replaced :(
  • Friday: buying our car! And then maybe go for a drive! lol

Saturday: painting the second coat of watertite paint at the church rectory. I'm hoping this goes fast. After, probably relaxing and maybe do some cleaning at home.

Sunday: church, brunch, then shopping with my mom to find shoes and jewelry for my brother's wedding, which is in a week from tomorrow!!! I ordered a cute pair of shoes on Amazon yesterday in case we don't find anything in person, which have free returns if they don't work out.
  • Tonight I'm doing all of the laundry so I don't have to do it this weekend. I tried a new workout this morning, so I have a TON of energy right now. I feel like I can tackle everything tonight and have a nice weekend.

Tomorrow my parents are staying at our house after my cousin's wedding out of state. So I'll be getting ready for them. That's it, though!

Sunday H and I will start packing for our upcoming trip to MN. I cannot wait for vacation!
  • This afternoon I play a wedding and then just hang out with the family tonight

Saturday - DH and I are both working the same wedding

Sunday - nothing planned - relaxing I guess.
  • Tonight, not really sure, just cooking dinner and hanging out I think.

Saturday - Hopefully sleeping in.  I've been having to get up extra early because of the new puppy.  She's been good in her crate but once I get her out she's nuts so it takes extra time in the morning to play with her etc.  Then, I'm meeting up with a friend to go to the Denver Modernism show.  It looks pretty cool, like a big antique show, but with just 1940's and newer stuff.  Then grocery shopping and just hanging out at home.

Sunday - Just the usual house stuff.  Maybe take the puppy to a dog park if it isn't too muddy out, she needs to play with other more rambunctious dogs.  Our of our other dogs tries, but gets worn out pretty fast (she put herself to bed at like 830 last night LOL).

How old? Mine didn't start letting me sleep in until he was well over a year old. I wish I could bottle their energy!

She's 9 months old, but we've only had her 5 days so we're still figuring each other out.  She's actually pretty quiet if we leave her in her crate, but once she's out, she's OUT, and wants to play.  Our other dogs usually get up around 730 or 8 even on weekends, but I can usually let them out to potty then go back to bed, and they'll be quiet til I'm ready to get up for real.  This one, once she's up, she wants to play and isn't quiet about it.
  • Tonight: I need to make a chocolate pie for a funeral luncheon at church.
Tomorrow: Weight in at Weight Watchers, run a couple of errands, then can a couple more batches of spaghetti sauce.  H is also loading up the smoker with lots of meat for dinner.  Yum! Otherwise we'll probably just try to be productive.
Sunday: Church then no plans.  It really depends on the weather but I do need to tend to the landscaping and get some plants cut off that have already wilted. :-(  That's when you know summer is almost over.

Our dog (Izzy) is almost 4 years old, though we got her at 18 months.  Her energy level is the same as then.  She has a LOT of it!  But then she will have more mellow periods of time also.

A few years ago, we watched a friend's dog Bean (in our home) while she was on vacation.  Izzy and Bean together were SUPER high energy!  They would play and chase and wrestle with each other for hours.  It was exhausting just to watch them, lol.

Izzy loves other dogs and she was such a happy girl having Bean around.  I've tried to talk my H into getting another dog, but that is an adamant "no" from his end.  We share a backyard with my tenants who live next door.  They at least have some dogs that Izzy plays with when they are all outside.  In fact, if her friends are out there, she is FRANTIC to be let outside, lol.

  • @short+sassy that's kind of why we went ahead and took in Maybelle, we thought Winnie (3 year old basset hound) could use a friend because our old dog Deacon isn't interested in playing at all.  But Maybelle wears out Winnie!  Working on arranging some play dates with other neighborhood dogs that have more energy :)
