What do you think will happen?

Will the Trump shenanigans cause the GOP to split apart?  I personally hope so because I'd like a third moderate party.

Re: What do you think will happen?

  • I'd like a 3rd party as well.  I'm not sure in regards to the GOP party but I think Hilary is going to win this election.

    It will not happen.

Simply because it is just not done.

It would possibly have an effect on the rest of the world. A move like that can possibly endanger or crash another country.

Don't see how? Read this article:

Somewhere in history, that indeed did happen. And it can happen again today.

They are all the same bums under the skin. One will always back another of the same party.

We HAD a third party in 1992; Perot got 15% ot the vote; for all we know, the data was manipulated. He had a very big draw, was hugely passionate and the public loved his platform and ideas. How in heck did he only get a 15% chunk of the vote?

    We also had Bernie Sanders.

We also used to be a nation that vehemently protested: where was the outcry when it was discovered the votes were rigged and he should have gotten more than the reported percentage of votes???

We will never have a third party that is a strong or possibly stronger contender than the "usual" two. People still think that's an oddity and 'will take a vote away from the other 2 candidates."

Those assholes never should have backed him in the first place. Period.

    I skimmed your article. Interesting.

The author asserts that liberal intellectuals are the only ones who see these patterns. I think that's a bit of a narrow statement and I also think it is misleading. The fact is, conservative intellectuals ALSO see the same patterns and are trying to warn others as well. Ironically, if the author spent any amount of time with conservative Christians who are very orthodox in their faith and truly understand it, and don't just show up on Christmas, he would hear similar thoughts and concerns.

Basically he's just referring to the mob mentality and the problem of sheeple.

But that mob isn't limited to the sort who put Trump as the GOP candidate.
  • I am angling for a third party candidate. Evan McMullin.

He's actually a Republican running third party b/c the GOP slot was filled with Rump. He comes from the "Never Trump" circuit.

He nearly has Trump beat in Utah and he is gaining popularity in other states.

Interestingly, an online poll done by our local news stations had over 148,000 responders. Votes for third party candidates of "McMullin, Johnson, and the Other category" blew the major parties away. It was no contest. In the end, Johnson ended up with about 56% of the votes. I hope that trend is universal across the country.
  • This really is very sad.

And puts all of us in a hell of a spot.

There has never been anything like this mess. Sometimes I wonder if the whole thing was cooked up by both parties just for shits and giggles.

She was under investigation but was permitted to seek nomination and he has no qualifications at all. No understanding of the law or the Constitution or what makes this country run.

it's also filth and it's also aggression and it's entirely uncensored.  Nice for a kid to hear.

Neither one of them should be running.... but the ship left that port months ago.:(
