Happy Friday everyone!

I've got an application upgrade to do at 9am this morning and I think I'm heading home after that.  I feel like crap this morning.  Why can't I get sick in the middle of the week or the beginning? :(

Re: Happy Friday everyone!

  • Hope you feel better @jtmh2012!

Very excited for Friday here! We've had a lot of events at work this week, and there's another one tomorrow, so I don't need to work a full day unless I want the comp time. I'm feeling pretty worn down so I may just do my five hours and then get some rest.
  • I could leave an hour and a half early today just due to hours.  May just try to stick it out, but I do feel pretty miserable. :(

  • No fun being sick on the weekend, especially when you have a kiddo who wants your attention!

I don't have a single meeting on my calendar today which is really unusual.  I'm looking forward to reducing the contents of my inbox and getting some work done!

I'm so happy for Friday - I can't wait to go home and sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeep until the end of time. IVF drugs are making me feel headachy and tired. Although monitoring today shows everyone is growing like they are supposed to be so at least I've got that going for me lol.
  • Happy Friday!

This is our slow season in our office and I literally have nothing to do.  Zero. Zip. Zilch.
I also threw up while brushing my teeth this morning.  That was a fun new one.  Have to wait till noon, but I'm picking up anti-nausea medicine then.  I'm counting down the minutes till I can take one and pray it helps.

I was so sick with DD.  Every morning I would wake up hungry - eat come crackers and then puke them up, then pee and then eat breakfast.  Sometimes puke and pee at the same time.  Since day 1 I was very sick with her.  They gave me zofran.  I took it every day of my pregnancy.  It does help with the nausea but I still puked with it.

what else that worked well with me was chewing on ginger gum when i felt nauseous and sucking on peppermints.  You might try and also get some lavender pure essential oil.  Smelling it kicks it away as well.  It also helps with motion sickness.
  • It's going to be a slow weekend for us, mostly focused on deep cleaning.  We are going to be in Vegas next weekend and my parents are coming to stay the weekend after that, so I'm trying to do a deep clean now to lessen my workload coming up.

I also really really need to go through some stuff in the office, but the weather is going to be sooooo nice this weekend I don't think I will want to be cooped up.  We will probably golf instead....

  • Just found out we're attending a funeral on Sunday. One of DH's coworkers lost her husband. He had been going downhill for quite some time between Parkinson's and dementia so while it's sad, I'm glad he isn't suffering anymore.
  • Sending well wishes, @jtmh2012!!

This has been a ridiculously stressful week, but now that my work project is over I can relax a little bit. This weekend I am doing NOTHING and I can't wait. I mean, I'll be cleaning and stuff around the house and grocery shopping, but that's it.

H and I are still adjusting to the 6 week food challenge at his gym, and we're both kind of worn out. I'll probably read up on some new recipes to make next week. We're feeling pretty restricted, so we've just been having protein shakes, Lara bars, and chicken for the last two weeks. I think we're so tired because we're not eating enough. Ugggggh. "I can do anything for six weeks" has become my new mantra.

Yeah they have a new one now that starts with a D.  The nurse called it in for me yesterday but what the pharmacy had was expired so they had to order it.
Supposedly it's the only one that's FDA approved and it's new.  Which means there isn't a generic.  The pharmacist told me it's a $700 prescription and my insurance is picking up all but $85 of it.  $700 for 30 days of anit-nausea meds for a pregnant woman? Crazy!  It's like the pharmaceutical companies know who will be most desperate.  Thankfully I did some searching and found a coupon so it might get down to about $50.

At this point the nurse said it's not good that I've lost 6 pounds in 2.5 weeks. So I need to get on something either way.  I've been eating ginger candies like crazy.  Thankfully I can keep liquids down so I'm not dehydrated or anything.

H is still giving me crap that this is what I get for complaining about DD's pregnancy.  I was constantly nauseous but never actually got sick with her.

  • @brij2006  please don't tell me zofran isn't available anymore?  That was such a life saver for me and very affordable with the generic.  I had tried a different one but I can't remember the name and it made me so loopy and groggy - basically I couldn't function on it.  There were no side effects with zofran.  Thats such an outrageous price for the one you are mentioning - wtf?  Our neighbor is a NICU nurse and at one point she said she could get me some zofran if I had the same pregnancy as with DD.  I still have some zofran left over from 5 years ago :)  I hope you start feeling better and put weight back on.
  • Today I'm really dragging.  The last 2 weeks have been very busy.  Today I'm at home needing to catch up on laundry, dishes, and my business.  I haven't been able to do any of that stuff in awhile.
  • @vlagrl35 The pharmacist at my little local pharmacy said that they won't give it out anymore due to the lawsuits.  Although the nurse did pre-warn me about the cost and told me to call if my insurance wouldn't cover it or much of it. So there must still be another option.

  • @brij2006 Nov. 1 can't come soon enough.  I pray blue cross has another great plan option for us for 2017.  I will feel so much better after I go in their office and talk to an agent.  Health care costs are outrageous. I will also feel better after the election is over lol Nov 8th.
  • @vlagrl35 I know people who still get Zofran. Maybe different pharmacies have different policies? I also know lots of people doing the OTC combo of Unisom and B6. That duplicates one of the drugs, but I'm not sure if it's Zofran or Diclegis. Hope all goes well with your next health plan!

I think it's Diclegis.  I believe that's the one I'm getting. I'll know for sure when I pick it up this afternoon.
But dang, if I could have just taken a B6 and unisom, I totally would.  I'm already taking a B-complex because that supposedly helps my progesterone.  You would think it would have helped the nausea as well.

And yeah, I think it depends on the pharmacy.  I would seem to think others would carry Zofran still.
@vlagrl35 BCBS is the one that's covering this drug.  Just an FYI.

  • @brij2006 it might be worth asking your doc or midwife about. Duplicate may not have been quite the correct term, but I do know it helped some of my BMB friends who couldn't get their insurance to cover the actual drug. I hope the prescription you're getting later helps your nausea! Hang in there.
  • @Xstatic3333 - there's no way I could have taken unisom during the day - it makes me so tired because it is a nighttime sleep aid.

@brij2006 - we are on blue cross for the first time ever this year and we love them - their customer service is great!  we will stick with them again for 2017.
