What's going on for the weekend?
Does anyone have Monday off as a work holiday?
Re: Weekend Plans?
I am so excited to have Monday off! I didn't think we would but I'm not complaining.
Friday- Gym, grocery shopping
Saturday- Visiting my family then going to the in-laws
Sunday- Not much- laundry, taking Christmas stuff down, cleaning
Monday- Not sure what we'll be doing when H gets home at 2:30
Beyond that, no real plans yet aside from staying up to watch the ball drop.
Thurs - Christmas party with a group of friends. It was fun.
Fri - Early out from work and going to the gym after. Hardly anyone is in the office today so it is a major dress down day for me, especially since I was at a party last night. Going out to dinner at Noodles and then DVR or movie.
Sat - Meeting my grad school friends for brunch. Early evening party with my group of girlfriends (+ spouses and kids). Then stopping at a different New Years Eve party for the midnight toast. The first two events will have friends coming in from OOT so it will be great to see them.
Sun - relax, clean up the house, watch football and mystery shop dinner. I have a fantasy football team with H and we are going for the championship so we will be watching the computer too closely on Sunday!
Mon - Dog gets stitches out and then H and I meet friends for lunch.
Saturday - Possibly/probably working. It's the last day of the quarter and it really just sucks. We've been invited to a party but I think I just want to stay home. I'm feeling really down about the whole New Year.
Sunday - Spend the day with my family. DH and I will open Christmas gifts with them since we were with the ILs last weekend then we'll all have dinner together. I'm bringing the ham and my mom likes to make black eyed peas and collard greens for good luck and prosperity.
Monday - We both have the day off for the holiday so we'll probably spend the day taking down Christmas decorations.
Friday night: running errands. I got an awesome deal on my dry shampoo from Target and need to go do in store pick-up (it was on sale, plus I got two $5 gift cards for stocking up and ordering 8 cans, plus a 1% ebates and then 5% off with my red card!) , grocery shop for our party tomorrow night, and then clean the house.
Saturday: brunch at the neighbor's house in the morning and then we're having friends over for a murder mystery dinner and to watch the ball drop.
Sunday: no set plans, but since I won't be hungover on New Years Day for the first time in forever I'll probably tackle some laundry and a decluttering project or two.
Monday: Rogue One date with my husband!
Our office is also a ghost town today...
Tonight we're going to go eat somewhere, then our neighbor is having a Fight Night as his house. I use those as an excuse to drink wine with my neighbor's wife. Like we need an excuse...
Tomorrow is just a usual Saturday, especially since we were out of town last weekend. Need to catch up on laundry, groceries, chores. We're doing our usual NYE thing, by going to a hockey game downtown at 6pm, and then probably over to a friend's house afterwards. Last year we didn't make it til midnight, we'll see how this year goes.
Sunday and Monday are just lazy days at home, I'm going to make lasagna for the first time on Sunday. Otherwise I want to do a closet purge (I try to do one every 6 months or so), and work on organizing all of our paperwork. Since our weather is supposed to be warmish, I'm hoping to take the dog to the dog park every day too.
Saturday - Possibly another round of paint in the bathroom, depending on how much H gets done today. Then we are headed to Atlanta for NYE with H's family. They have a big to-do every year.
Sunday - NY day and my least favorite meal of the year because MIL goes ultra traditional with it, and I really hate collards and black eyed peas, but what can you do.
Monday - office is closed, so we are coming home after breakfast and finishing the bathroom if anything is left to do on that, plus running some errands/cleaning. We will also return any supplies we don't use for the bathroom to Lowe's. Usually we keep extra supplies, but we are determined to do this as cheaply as possible.
Saturday - going to the casino with H's family. I hate wasting money, so I'm not a fan of his family's favorite outing. Plus, I just find casinos in general depressing! It's a weird dynamic when we go, because we're the most financially sound in attendance, but spend the least on gambling (max of $50) so when we're out of cash, we just end up watching, which is awkward for everyone and his mom and step dad try to give us more money. To top it off, they don't drink, so H feels the need to hide our trips to the casino bar. It's just weird.
Sunday - making and serving a meal at the women's shelter where I'm on the board. I'm bringing roast, mashed potatoes, stuffing and broccoli. Another board member is bringing dessert and rolls.
Monday - working. Should be slow and quiet, and I'll be able to wear jeans!
The crazy thing is nobody in the family really likes this meal. FIL hates it more than I do and has literally refused to eat it some years. MIL and SIL pick at it. H and his brothers will eat it, but it's not really their preference. Yet she insists on making it every. single. year. Because tradition.
I have learned that if I chase it with water or wine I can get through a plate that's large enough to be polite. I have also learned to bring snacks that I can eat upstairs so I don't starve.
Tomorrow-Relax in the AM and probably hit the farmer's market. For our evening activity we are going to see a friend who is in a local comedy group that's actually quite good! It should be a fun NYE. Just a little nervous about parking downtown; hopefully our local mall's parking lot has space available.
Sunday-Relax, home projects
Monday-Relax, home projects
Basically, it's going to be awesome.
Tonight - possibly see star wars
Saturday - DD has a bday party in the morning to attend and as a family that night we are going to a restaurant that has a celebration and ball drop for the new year at 9pm for kids
Sunday - relax and I will probably clean
Monday - put away all xmas decor
Tomorrow im going to brunch with my cousins, then home to clean up the house.
Sunday SIL and BIL are coming over for our Christmas.
Monday H and I are both off work, and we're putting all the Christmas decorations away. My parents are also coming over so my dad can fix the light fixture he installed for me over the summer.
Friday: ran errands, spent some time at home
Saturday: day trip to visit family
Sunday: more bathroom work (cut down the door to accommodate the floor tile, caulk), cleaned up the basement
Today: wfh, grocery shop, meal prep, laundry, relax
