Weekend Plans?

What is up for the weekend?

Re: Weekend Plans?

  • Friday - Doing some house cleaning tonight in preparation for Saturday.

Saturday - I'm meeting my sister at the grocery story to do some shopping and then she's coming over and we're making a ton of freezer meals together so I'll have 40 freezer meals stored up and I won't need to do another big shopping trip for quite awhile!

Sunday - No plans. As long as it's not rainy I'll probably do some yard work. The bad part about not living in an HOA is not everyone picks up their leaves so we have a ton of leaves in our yard in spite of taking care of our own. I think we're having a goodbye dinner for my youngest sister at my parents house before she does a study abroad trip to Spain for 4 months.
  • Board Game Cabin Weekend! We rent a cabin in the woods (New Hampshire this year) for a long holiday weekend with friends and play long board games the entire time. We also have a few really good cooks in the bunch so we'll have delicious fancy food too. A couple of the games that are planned are a bit more hardcore than I'm interested in so I'll probably take a few hours one afternoon to take the dogs for a long walk and read a book while the nerdier nerds tackle a long game.

Sounds like some of my friends! DH is super into games, his whole family is, so I'll play too. But when he and his friends play the super long intense games I just have to drop out. I'll play the faster stuff and have a lot of fun but I just cannot stick it out for a 6 hr + game. What games are on the agenda?
  • Friday- Gym, grocery shopping

    Saturday- Movies, hanging out

    Sunday- Visiting family, gym

  • Friday - Pizza night
Saturday - Going to Atlanta to visit H's cousin
Sunday/Monday - Working on the stairs in our basement.  The goal this weekend is to get the stairwell painted and at least half the treads cut and stained.  Next weekend we will (hopefully) finish the treads and get them installed and poly'd

Imperial Assault and Game of Thrones were the two that are longer than I don't have patience for lately (I've played Game of Thrones once before and it took us HOURS - we had to take a dinner break and it's so intense we all had to hug it out at the end. There was almost a divorce when my friend decided to help my family try and win instead of her husband's hahaha). Some games like Elder Sign and Arkham Horror just aren't my favorites either. But we've also got Power Grid, Stone Age, Last Will, Mysterium, Concordia, Ticket to Ride Europe, and a few more I'm probably forgetting that are more my style. Plus a bunch of 5-15 minute filler games to give your mind a break from the more intense ones. My husband packed up about 40 games last night....

Omg, I've known people to take a friendship break because one time someone pulled something pretty annoying. This was a long game...I don't remember which one anymore, but he had taken something like 20-30 minutes figuring out the actions he was going to take on his turn. Took those actions and realized he had made a big mistake and wanted to go back and redo everything! Everyone told him NO and he got all pissy and left. I cannot believe how seriously some people take winning!

DH and his family have a rule. There are no friends in games. It's very very much tough love when they play.

I love Ticket to Ride, but we've got the original game. My mom got us an expansion for the Europe version for Christmas so I guess we need to buy the main game now...oh darn.
  • We have Ticket to Ride Europe, and I love it but H resists playing with me because it's too much thinking haha. But there's an expansion for it? Hmmm intriguing.
  • Tonight- no plans. Working late, and I went to the gym this morning so I can go home right after work.

Saturday- Deep cleaning and mopping the basement floor.

Sunday- We're celebrating Christmas with my parents and my brother's family.

Monday- Bank holiday, so it counts as the weekend!!  I booked an early class at the gym, and I'll grocery shop and meal plan since it's a free day.
  • No plans as of yet........

  • Friday - Working.. Ugh. I'm supposed to be writing a policy but I'm having major writers block right now so I think I'm going to have to my work home to do it this weekend. Maybe pizza later and definitely bingeing on Game of Thrones

Saturday - Facial in the AM (have a gift certificate), H is going to help his mom and stepdad with a flooring project and might stop by to see my Dad.

Sunday - Baby shower and birthday party.

Monday - I'm off for MLK. My sister, cousin, and I are going to Blue Moon Café in Baltimore for breakfast and girls time. I'm beyond excited. Their food is so good... They have Captain Crunch French Toast. YUM.

  • Going wedding dress and bridesmaids dress shopping with my BFF.  That's the only thing on the agenda.

  • Fri - Early out at work!!! Walk the dog, get some stuff done around the house, cook dinner for H (he usually cooks so it is nice I am home early to do it today and give him a break), relax and watch TV.  I just saw a blurb about the new season of Better Call Saul that had a Breaking Bad spoiler.  H and I started watching BB but didn't finish so now we are going to try and finish this month.  We'll do a lot of BB watching this weekend.

Sat - Meet a friend of a friend for a networking coffee.  Church, out to dinner, shopping.

Sun - H's friend is coming over to watch football.  Probably being pretty lazy for the day.

Mon - Holiday at work so meeting a bunch of girlfriends for lunch.  Hockey game with H that evening.

  • we are in an ice storm warning this weekend.  They predicted it would happen today so DD is getting out early from school this afternoon but I don't think it will actually happen until tomorrow.  So if our babysitter can still come I'm going with DH down to his studio tonight for a small wedding.  A friend of his is going to use his space with maybe 20 guests.

Saturday and Sunday we will be inside.  I will probably continue to deep clean our house and catch up on things.  we will also watch football on sunday.

breaking bad is amazing!  We loved it and basically binged watched it in 2 months.  Is better call saul already out?
  • Tonight: We're going out to dinner, H is paying :)

Tomorrow: Dropping my car off in the AM to get an oil change and tires rotated.  I've already gone over 10,000 miles... on the new car I bought in July, eesh!   In the afternoon we have a 1 year old's bday party to go to.  No plans for Saturday night yet.

Sunday: Just stuff around the house.... grocery shopping if I don't get it done on Saturday.

Saul premiere date isn't set yet.  We saw a couple of seasons of BB last year so I think we can finish in a couple of months.  We were really impressed with the first couple of seasons, can't wait to see what else happens.
  • I need to do a Target run and a few things around the house, but I really don't want to do much if I can help it. I'm completely exhausted and grateful for a long weekend to fall right now.
