NMM: Stitch Fix: Update

My Fix arrived today.

It was five items ranging in price from $48 to $88. Based on my notes/comments and style profile, the stylist nailed the colors and the desires I had for types of clothing I wanted. Two of the four tops I am returning because there is too much "yank factor" with them - things my kids will pull on and reveal my bra. The one pair of pants, fit great but I miscommunicated what I was searching for in terms of style and that was my fault. So, I am returning three items and keeping two (a top and a cardigan), which, for the two items, is costing me $96.

In general, I would be comfortable spending $30-$40 on a single top/cardigan so let's say $60 for two items. But because I am rural and have little time to get to the store, and I hardly can be in the store with four kids in tow, anyways...I have to ask myself if $36 extra for two articles of clothing is "worth it."

It takes me 35 minutes to get to the mall each way. Plus gas for about 30 miles each way. Mathematically, my time (DH and I figure) if I were an hourly employee (doing all that I do PLUS teaching school to our kids) would be a minimum of $30/hour...so for now, I'm going to permit the $36 EXTRA I just spent and see how Fix#2 goes. I'm hoping that with more follow up comments and notes, the stylist can continue to do really well and I'll get to keep more than 2 items.

In review, I am liking this, but I am not 100% sold on it. I feel I need to do it at least once more to make a more educated decision on whether or not it is worth the money. Buuuut on the other hand, opening my door to a box packed with items FOR ME, without ME having to "shop" was pretty awesome.
