Posting Pictures?

Has the Nest deactivated posting pictures?  I'm trying to share some updated landscaping pics and the picture upload or html won't let anything load...

I've tried dragging and dropping in Chrome but not very recently. I just pulled this one from my pinterest and it seems to be showing up ok.

I think I was able to upload pics on here a long time ago.  But it's been at least a year for me since that was possible.  I think @brij2006 mentioned once that she uses "tiny URL"?  Something like that?

I had a login in issue, yet again, today.  It's like a secret handshake to get in here.  Here's what I had to do:

• Try to reply to a post, because the normal login screen doesn't work at all.  But trying to reply (or "like" a post) takes you to a different login screen
• Log in with your normal e-mail address and password, assuming you know it.
• You will get an error message in small red type on top of that box.  Like it didn't work.
• Don't change anything for the username/password.  Click the login button a SECOND time.  And NOW it will let you in, smh.  I owe that last tip to @jtmh2012.

I know I had trouble with it the last time I tried.  Officially, no idea.  TN leadership seems to have gone MIA.....

I usually have to do the same to login.

I can't do it on my laptop but I'm able to do it from my phone - weird.

Also have to do the double login. And I can't add a profile photo which kind of annoys me. I thought it was because I originally signed up through the knot but I cant add one there either. And I have zero idea how to get here from the main nest page since they updated - good thing I have you all bookmarked!

I've been trying to update my signature for 6 months, ever since we lost our daughter.  Nothing like being reminded of the baby you lost every time you post because TN has screwed things up and won't respond to questions.

@AprilZ81 On the upper right hand corner there's a little person.  Click on that and it will pop up "preferences." Go into there and click "signature settings."  You can edit it, but have to click save about 20 times for it to actually take.

...and TN wonders why it's so dead.  It's far from user friendly.  And if you want to get on mobile.  Well, good luck to you.  It will log you out with every screen click.
I'm going to be so MIA once I'm no longer working and do things mobile.

@short+sassy I use tinypic.com.  It's still a PITA though, then I insert the picture link in the HTML format.

Honestly, I think the company that manages this place has forgotten it exists.  I tried to see if we could get a new "NestGod" after NestCayla disappeared.  Heck, would have even volunteered for the position myself.  Couldn't find anybody who knew anything.  Tried reaching out to some of the BumpGods and got nowhere.  I don't even see the forums listed on the main page anymore, but maybe I wasn't looking in the right place.

There was an admin@something address that I got a response from once.  I think it shows up on the alternate login page.  I'll have to try emailing that next time I get logged out and can get the address.

I think I might even be the only person left with moderator rights.

We could always make a facebook group to chat amongst ourselves.  We would see each other's real names, but wouldn't see Facebook posts on our general wall.

It fixed it!  I swear I've checked there hundreds of times and the option for signature updates was NOT there.  THANK YOU!!!!

I'm ok with something like that. I'm actually part of a couple secret Facebook groups with some women I became close friends with on TK (secret meaning invisible to general Facebook searches, you have to be invited by a moderator, and posts are only visible to members of the group). If you're not Facebook friends with people in the group your regular profile settings still apply, meaning they only see the information you've allowed non-friends to see.

I'm not on Facebook at all so if you move to that I wish you well. Just refuse to create an account- I don't like being dragged into that spiral of nonsense. I have always enjoyed these posts and board. Good luck to everyone

Can you search posts in a FB group?  I'm in a secret group with my close circle of girlfriends and there was a post I wanted to reference but it was buried (we post a lot) and I couldn't find it.
FB is easy but I like the search and post organization on TN.

@Xstatic3333 and I are there waiting for you.    When you join please be sure to post what your screenname is here so we can try to remember everyone's TN history with a new name and profile picture.

Yes, you can search by key word or by poster's name in all of the FB groups I'm in.

@csuave You can now. I know at a minimum you can search for people and it will bring back all the posts by that person.

@cbee817 One of the women in my group deleted her Facebook account recently due to her marriage and some invasion of privacy issues with her new husband's family. She created a very generic profile, no picture, no information, no friends, and left it temporarily searchable so the moderator could find her and add her back in and then she made it completely private, or as private as you can be on Facebook anyway. But I totally understand, my husband hates Facebook and doesn't want any part of it. FWIW, we still posted for years between the FB group and the public forum and that changed only very recently.

I'll still be around here too, but it's becoming a PITA.

I'm very much a lurker on this board, mainly because 90% of the time I can't log in or stay logged in. I'd love to be a part of FB group so that I can actually participate (rather than just lurking) because I've gotten so much good info from you all, however I understand if anyone is uncomfortable because I'm not "well-known".

Thanks @labro for the tip. Made a pledge with DH way back in 2004 that we would never join myspace(!) or Facebook. Have to honor that commitment- it's right up there with our wedding vows and if you lose a kid, don't ever come back.
