Any ideas for a long weekend getaway?
I want to plan something for DH and I to do for our anniversary. It will be our very first time ever leaving our son alone overnight, so I really don't want to go anywhere too far.. something withing a 2 hour driving distance or so. I really don't have anything particular in mind.. I am just looking forward to some peace and alone time. It will be in June which is far off, but I want to just start looking... I'm a horrible procrastinator, and I don't want to wait until the last minute for something. It would probably be a 3-4 day trip.. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

If you're looking for something outdoorsy, YMCA has a lodge in Potosi that I've heard good things about. Horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, etc.

If you are into the wineries, I would recommend going to Hermann for the weekend. If you aren't, then you might get a little bored there. June is the perfect time of year to visit Chicago, but that is farther than 2 hours away.
Oooh, that's a good idea! I don't know why I didn't think of that one too!
My husband and I had an amazing weekend in Memphis for his 25th Birthday. We stayed at the Hilton, went to Graceland and on a dinner cruise all for $500. However, it is a 4 hour drive. It's a little further than you wanted to go.
I think Rend Lake has some nice cabins and the lake is beautiful. I've never stayed there but I'd really like to go. You can rent a pontoon boat for the day and I think they have trails to hike. I think it's worth considering.
