Now that I am finished the Twilight Saga..what

Re: Now that I am finished the Twilight Saga..what

  • Twiddle your thumbs for a while LOL  I had a hard time getting into any other books for a bit.  I ended up rereading the series because I couldn't focus on anything else.  Good luck!

Follow my SK blog as I reread the entire SK library (again!):

  • I am knee deep in the sookie stackhouse collection. It is pretty good, but the writing style is VERY different than SM, which I found difficult to switch to after reading twilight gobs of times in a row.

  • I had trouble getting into anything else after Twilight as well.  I'm also reading the Sookie Stackhouse series now.  Very different, but easy and enjoyable.
  • I also read the Sookie series next and loved it!

I strongly considered reading Harry Potter again after Twilight, actually.

  • I wish I had ideas for you but all I can say is start over.  One thing that I've been obsessed with lately is fanfic... www.twilighter.net.  Go there!
  • I re-read them, then trying to force everyone else to read them.  Now, I'm going to start up on Harry F*cking Potter!

  • I dove right into the Outlander series (TOTALLY different in every way from Twilight). I needed a strong male character to cure me of my Edward addiction, and I found it in Jamie Fraser.  The books are long, but the writing is excellent, and Jamie is HOT!  The books are historical fiction, with alot of romance, and bit of sci-fi.  I would recommend these books to anyone.

Exactly why I am afraid to get into it!!  That, and I am afraid the characters are smarter then me and I wont follow along.  I need a dictionary just trying to watch the first HP movie.

really?  Really?  Are you really going to use that argument? There are approximately a kajillion characters in the Twilight books as well.

Just try it.  Most of the characters are recurring.  The new ones are introduced in such a way that they do recur in subsequent books.  The writing is MUCH better and there is a bit of love along the way.

I didn't steer you wrong about Twilight, did I?

Try it with us for the readalong.

JK explains all of the terminology in her novels.  You'll love it.  Just try Harry on for size :)

  • HP. Hands down. It's a must-read.

Sigh. I'm so looking forward to the readalongs. Just another excuse to read them again!?

  • I'm psyched.  I wish they were all real.

Um, if you are referring to HP, they are real. They all laugh at how easily we muggles believed JKR's 'fiction.'

One of my favorite T-shirts is black and says "MUGGLE" across the front in red. Awesome Hot Topic clearance find. DH tried to take it first, but I won. It didn't fit him anyhow.

And plus, he wouldn't be caught dead with it on. Smile?

Wait?  You haven't read them?  Dude, that's crazy.  They are not at all hard to follow.  There's no more characters than any other 7 book series.  And they're great - just as easy as Twilight, but less annoying.

LOL ... you have to read the second of the fanfics I found over the weekend.  www.gatekeeperscurse.com ... He references JKR several times.  Too funny.

I hope you love it as much as I do.  I'm about to start book four today.  I will say this though, it took about 175 pages for me to be totally drawn in.  But I had a coworker who kept telling me to keep reading, and I'm so glad I did.
