New Year's Eve!!!

Hello from a Nashville native! I lurk here from time to time, but I thought I'd come in for a bit!

Does anyone reccomend any great places for New Year's Eve this year? My DH and I are looking for something to do. (We know we're looking last minute!)

He doesn't like HUGE crowds of hundreds of people, so I'm looking for something laid back or informal. I've had the last few years to get all dolled up and go to a huge party, so I don't have the desire to go somewhere huge either.

Anyone reccomend something small, laid back, different, or artsy? I'd kill for the Symphony to have some nice event, but neither them nor the ballet has anything going on.

We don't mind traveling to Cool Springs, Franklin, Smyrna, wherever!

Re: New Year's Eve!!!

  • I think DH and I are going to Dan McGuinness Pub in Cool Springs. They have an Irish band starting at 9pm. Seems like it will be pretty laid back.
  • A friend of mine has rented out Aerial downtown, but you need to get tickets in advance. Most places I know are selling tickets in advance. I typically don't ever go anywhere on NYE because I don't like worrying about the drunk drivers. Dan McGuiness sounds like it could be a nice time.

?I was planning on seeing my friend Anthony Gomes play, but I am sick with Walking Pnuemonia (again!) and they ended up having to cancel anyway.?

  • DH and I and another couple are going to 12 South Taproom. They're having live music, beer specials, no cover, and a complimentary champagne toast at midnight. It sounds like it's going to be just our speed.

  • Thank you for everyone who responded! I'm sorry I haven't responded back sooner.

DH and I ended up going to dinner then back home to watch movies and do a champagne toast at midnight. It was nice=)

I hope you all had a wonderful New Year's Eve!
