1 Year Vaccinations

Is MMR the only controversial 1 year vaccination? Did you delay? What are the options with this one? I'm nervous about it, even though I'm very skeptical about the link to autism...what did you do with the 1 year vaccinations?

Re: 1 Year Vaccinations

  • we have given both boys all vacinations based on the pedi schedule. we talked about it & determined that though there are risks involved nothing is concreate

This is what we did too

  • We will be giving Reid all vaccinations on the regular schedule.

We've done the same thing.  Our pediatrician vaccinated his own kids on the normal schedule, which helped sway our decision.

  • Gabe only recieved the chickenpox vac at his first year.  I held off the MMR b/c he had a cold.  As soon as it all clears up he will get the vaccine.
  • I used to work in a pedi office and I would say that 95% of people stick to the schedule.  A few try to spread them out more or have to if the kid is sick and very few (two families that I can distinctly remember, one had another child that was autistic) would separate the M, M and R into three separate shots... they had to special order and bring it in etc.    But they are all required to go to school anyways.   Having worked in a pedi office etc.. I would go with the schedule recommended by the Academy of Pediatrics that everyone uses..  the frequency can vary slightly with the brand that the office uses actually, or at least we had to make slight changes when we changed brands.   I say that now, and I dont have kids, but I'm sure I will stick to it..

     ok, now I've rambled.
