Re: **seghib**
Hi! I didn't mean to intrude, I just was so happy to see some people posting. I am stuck at work and soooo bored!!!
My name is Brittany (my screenname is my maiden name and initials) and I live in Farmington. I got married almost 5 years ago (January 24th...I can't believe its been that long) in Cleveland, OH. I grew up in Ohio and moved out here after college with my husband (6 months before we were married) for a job. I do miss Ohio, but this is more like home every day....lets see what else.....I work alot, travel about 50% for work and the rest of the time I just hang with the hubby and a few friends we have made here. I love scrapbooking and spend alot of time in the winter especially working on that. No kids yet...but hopefully sometime.....
Anyhow, its nice to have some people to chat with! I am on my computer all day long and its nice to see someone on here!
no intrusion at all. The Tribe is now an invitation board only so its nice to get to know someone else who we can possibly invite to join. :-)
What kind of work do you do?
I am Kelly. I live in Ontario, Canada now, but lived in Wallingford,CT (New Haven County) for 3 years before moving here. I got married 2 1/2 years ago and we are expecting our first (and probably only) baby in February. I have 2 dogs---Dunkin and Ripley. I also miss the US and CT especially very much!
Oh, we have some scrapbooking Tribies I think--hopefully they will pop-in and say hello! Despite the bad press we have gotten from some Nesties as being uber-exclusive we are truly a friendly bunch!
Nice to "meet" you!
Nice to "meet" You too! I saw your pics of your doggies....I don't know how to do all that stuff in my siggy. I have a 2 year old Maltese who is my little girl. Congrats on the little baby! Thats very exciting.
I work in Internal Audit for one of the insurance companies downtown. Its not as bad as it sounds. People always give me this look when I say what I do.
Scrapbooking Tribies! I would love to hear from any of them. I use to have a group of girls I would scrap with back in Ohio, but only have found one person here who enjoys the same.
Are most of the Tribies in CT or have many moved away?
Thanks for paging me!
Most of the Tribies are in CT---- some are in other places; Australia, North Carolina, New Hampshire, Chicago to name a few, but most are in CT.
Oooooh, you have a Maltese too? Name please?
I wish I could help you with your siggy but I honestly dont remember how :-(
I wonder if you "know" any Tribies from your business, lots of Tribies work in Insurance in Hartford. Interesting!
Hi Brittany,
Thanks for the introduction! I'm Aspen...or you can call me Tina. I live/work in lower Fairfield county with my DH. I like to drink, eat and run. I'm a pretty simple girl. I work for a big bank that practices predatory credit card lending. As you can imagine, I'm really proud of that (insert sarcasm). My DH has a more honest job.....he works at a golf course.
Anyways, it's nice to "meet" you. Welcome to CT too!!
::butting in::
Hi Brittany! I am Barbara and I live in Thomaston. I am a scrapbooker, too, but unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time to do it now. I have a daughter, Isabella who will be 20 months old on Friday and a stepdaughter, Allison who is 13.
Nice to meet you!
My little Maltese is named Bella....she is sooo sweet! If I ever figure out this thing I will post pics. She is 2 1/2 years old and weighs 8lbs. She was sick recently and lost about 1 lbs and I freaked out!
Tina, its nice to meet you! Don't worry, my company invested in a subprime mortgage company that went belly up and really hurt us so I can relate....Do you run marathons? half marathons? my DH did the Hartford half marathon this summer....i did the 5K. I am horrible runner, but love spinning! I am going to **try** to do a mini triathalon this summer though.....we will see.
Its nice to meet all of you! So many friendly people!!! Makes the time here at the office go by faster...they did say we could leave at 11...YIPPEEE!!
I don't run half marathons or marathons yet. I am hoping to run the NYC half and full marathon this year. It's always been a long term goal of mine! I love spinning too!! Great exercise as well!!
Hi Britney!
I also work in internal audit and travel quite a bit.
I was born in Cleveland, well, Eastlake and all my extended family still lives in that area. I have been in CT about 7 1/2 years now, I moved here after college for a job.
Welcome!
Scrapbooking Tribie in the hoooouse.
Hi Brittany, welcome to the board! I'm Kelly, I'm one of the out-of-state ladies...I grew up in Mystic and got married there last year, but DH and I live in Albany NY now. I graduated from UConn, work at a university up here, and I'm also working on my master's degree part time. I love to travel, DH and I are always planning a new trip...also snowboarding, hiking, reading, and SCRAPPIN', haha. I'm still working on my wedding scrapbook, it's my pet project!
Nice to "meet" you
I'll butt in and introduce myself too.
I'm Monica. I live in N. Attleboro Ma. Richard and I have been married just a little over a year. We just found out (yesterday) that our bid was accepted on a house. VERY exciting/terrifying. We have no kids, but do have 2 cats named Norman and Fizzgig.
I grew up in Rocky River (westside). All my family is still in the area as well! I was just back there for Christmas
I only lived in OH until I was 5, at that time I moved to AZ. However, I have a huge family (like 35 first cousins) and they mostly still live in the Cleveland area. So, we typically visited OH once a year growing up. Being in CT, it is much easier to visit now, than from AZ (where my parents still are).
It took me over a year to do our wedding scrapbook...i am VERY slow and particular about my books.
I went to Italy (Rome, Florence and Venice) and then to Germany (Munich, and a small down called Bruehl). My husband as family in Germany so we stayed with them. In total were there just over two weeks. I could go on for hours about the trip. What cities are you going to?
Hi Brittney! Guess I'll introduce myself too
I live in Ellington, CT. Been married 3 1/2 years. I have two little ones, Emma is 2 1/2 and Ben is 4 months. I like to scrapbook too, but never have much time to do it. I also like to run, and actually participated in a triathlon back in '07. After having the baby I can't wait to get back into it! Anyway...nice getting to "know" you
I'm going to Rome, Florence and Venice for 2 weeks in March! Can't wait!!
Thanks everyone for introducing themselves.
Did you all use to post on here and then decide to stop or did you already know each other?
I wish I was going back again. I loved all of it!!! My favorite of them all was Florence. We have already started to talk about going back there for 2 weeks and staying in the city for a week and tuscany for a week. We did so much while we were there. We relyed heavily on the Rick Steves books, if you don't have them, i recommend them. If you want details of what we did/questions, page or e-mail me....seghibs at yahoo dot com
Wow, sounds like it was an awesome trip! We are flying into Barcelona and staying there for a few days, then the cruise goes to Nice, Florence, Rome, Mykonos, Ephesus, Santorini, Athens, Naples, and back to Barcelona.
The format of this board used to be different...the nest changed it, we all hated it, Melany created the Tribe and we've been gone ever since. That was in April I think?
We all used to post here before they changed the format of the boards, so one of the gals created a new board and we all migrated over there.
I should probably introduce myself too, huh? I'm Jen - live in lower Fairfield County, and have been married for almost 3 years. I normally love the snow (being from Buffalo and all), but hate how it paralyzes the whole damn state - I grew up on skis and was on a team for a year in college. I work as a pharmacist in town. Nice to meet you!
