We live less than a mile from the start of the parade so we went on down there early this morning and looked at all the floats before they left. Soooo amazing up close like that.
I TiVod the commercial free parade and will watch it this afternoon.

Min, you are so lucky to be so close. I live fairly close to the end of the parade, but not close enough to walk over.
I we are going to go over there sometime tomorrow to see the floats on display. It is a tradition we started with Julian last year.
Marina, we are in the same boat! Hehe. ?We did watch it on TV. ?I wish we were up enough to head outside to see the bombers fly over! ??
Maybe next year if I am not pg or have a newborn I'll take J to the end of the route, or try to find a spot somewhere in the route! ?
When we lived in our apt, we were unable to leave the house on New Years day because of the proximity to the end of the parade route, the city had to issue us special passes to get in to our neighborhood on NY eve. We had to wait until the afternoon to venture out! Good times.
I was there and it wasn't bad at all. My friend lives on Oak Knoll about 2 blocks down from Colorado so we stood near the Target and actually got spots for chairs. We didn't go down until 7:45AM.
Last night we went down Colorado just after midnight and it was really fun!

we camped out right in front of tiffany's. ?the campout part was tons of fun, although a lot of rude fuckers showed up for the parade this morning and came dangerously close to getting kicked in the junk.

why would people think they could just show up this morning and get a prime spot for the parade...without camping out all night?? That's totally f'd up.
We watched it on TV this morning, DVRed too, and then went to go see the floats on display. Jos kept saying "Look Mommy, on TV", referring to how she recognized them. Cool!
I loved the Jack in the Box float. Stephanie Edwards on tv this morning said that the voice and person who plays him IRL is a VP at the marketing company. LOL! What a gig! THat's soooo cool!
Wan - sorry to hear that a-holes almost ruined it for you. Hope you guys can forget about that part and just remember the fun!
