Re-evaluation of NM (Spoilers.. kinda long)

So I was dying to re-read NM, because everyone said they liked it so much more the second time around. Count me into that group! It still isn't at the top of my list, but I did like it better than the first time. I was able to pay more attention before Edward came back.

That said, I still am not crazy about Jacob. I like him when he is being her friend, but it bugs me to no end when he tries to pressure her for more. I am halfway through Eclipse, so after I finish all of the books I will let you know my final assessment :-P

Oh and even though Eclipse is still my favorite so far, my favorite part of the whole series is definitely still in NM! From when they leave for Italy and on, is my favorite. Again, I will let you know if that changes after I finish reading them all :-P

Eclipse is my fave, too.  I get all tingly at the proposal chapter.  TINGLY, I tell you.

I agree, I don't like how Jacob acts towards Bella in NM or Eclipse. I think he really pushes and pushes her which just confuses her more. It's sucky of him to not see, as her friend, that she needs a good friend at that time, not a new love interest.

Me too!! I re-read that right when I finished Eclipse, while I was waiting for BD. I am such a sucker for happy endings and weddings and all that goo

I also agree about Jacob's advancements, but I had to keep telling myself he's a 16 y/o boy - they're stupid and driven by their egos and peens.

Oh definitely, and in NM there was no Edward, so it wasn't like he was being an ass, just following his feelings thats all. It was Eclipse that really made him aggravating in my eyes

i think jacob is an arrogant *** pretty much the whole time...except in the first book obviously.  he constantly pressures her and she continuously lets him.  im sorry but if my "best friend" talked about my boyfriend (well love of my life) the way jacob constantly did, i would have told him to right off. clearly he has no respect for her. but bella is just weak and stupid in Eclipse and lets everything he says slide.  sorry for the rant. but both jacob and bella bugged the living shit out of me in Eclipse.  it's a wonder i even liked the book as much as i did...hmm i wonder who that could be attributed to!!

Those are the reasons Jacob aggravates me too. But I am not like anyone else on this board (that I have read anyway) because Bella doesn't bug me. I think I'm kinda like her, and maybe that is why? 

She is just really quick to forgive, which is why she lets him get away with being a dlck. Not saying I would do the same in that situation, I don't know, but I am also very quick to forgive, especially with someone I love.
