I'm not team Jacob either. The emotions that book brings out in me are not found in the other books. I think that goes with my personality. If a song, book, movie or etc can break my heart I'm enamored.
I feel a little bit lonely because I don't think I've seen it as anyone else's favorite. lol
Also, Who else wouldn't have forgiven Edward so easily?
Re: NM is my favorite...
I love NM!! It is not my favorite, but I love it just the same. I liked it the first time I read it but the second time is what turned like to love. I think everyone should read NM twice. Once to find out what happens and then again to catch the things you missed while wondering when the heck Edward is going to come back.
I would have forgiven Edward just as easily but that is b/c I am irrevocably in love with him! His leaving sucked but his reasons for leaving (protecting Bella, wanting her to lead a normal life) are things I can admire about him. He was both selfish and self-less at the same time, and when he thought that Bella had killed herself over him, he attempted to do the same, so to me, he was more self-less than anything and I love THAT about him.
That was all very Romeo and Juliet-ish of them.
Exactly!

I was actually considering posting a similar comment. I don't know whether New Moon is my favorite or not, but I completely understood the way that Bella felt. I think everyone who has had their heart broken can sympathize. That was that reason it resonated with me so much; I could totally put myself in her shoes.
