did anyone watch 20/20 tonight?
I almost never watch it, but tonight's theme was PG and babies... breastfeeding, home births, surrogates, etc.
First topic: having an orgasm during labor. um...EWWWWWWWWWW! Could anything be more inappropriate? They kept airing footage of this earth-mother laboring in a hot tub under a tree, and she's getting off whilst laboring. I'm sure every mother would rather not feel labor pain, but that just crosses some sort of line, don't you think?
Of course, I'm of the impression that the only orgasm that is acceptable with regards to children is the one that concieves them. Silly me, though, if it's on TV perhaps it's okay to come while giving birth, or while breastfeeding, or whatever.
Sorry, I'm totally ugh about it.

I just caught the end of the piece about the orgasm, and I thought I must have misunderstood since it didn't make sense, talking about labor and orgasms! Yuk, so gross.
I now have fears of my twins wanting to bf when they are 7. They still want to nurse at night and I decided to let them wean themselves, but I think 2 will be their cut off!
I saw a whole doc about the women with the fake dolls some time ago, I think it's kinda sad. They are obviously trying to fill some void in their lives.
Oh, and what about that english surrogate! I don't have any problem with a women doing it lots of time - they are helping a childless couple have their own child - I don't even care if they do it for the money. But using your own eggs! Now that is just wrong, and to risk getting pg by your bf and passing it off as the couples, and then acting like it's no big deal. So disturbing!
I didn't watch it, but I've heard that orgasms are possible during l&d. I too think it's a little strange and I really can't wrap my brain around it. But then again, I did have a c-section, so I can't really speak to it.
Oh, and was the lady hanging from the tree? Because my sister saw a special on Discovery(I think) awhile back about hanging from a tree(by the arms) to let gravity 'do the work' during labor. I thought that was interesting...but I definitely wouldn't try it myself!
