Guess I won't need to work out today!

We woke up and have been decluttering our closets/storage areas, etc. and moving everything we don't need over to ILs shed/attic (yay for not renting a self storage thing).  Next step is taking down all the xmas decor and getting the tree out, arranging DH's office shelves so they look "pretty" instead of being so full, pulling the dining room table into the kitchen, rearranging the dining room to make it more of a living room...plus at least one (probably two more) trips with a car full over to the ILs.

My contractor is on the way over to get the list of misc. last projects we wanted to do before we sold (touching up ceiling paint, replacing outlets so that they match the new covers we put on them, etc). Fun, fun.

So, for all of you that have looked at houses/condos...tell me what you saw in the property you bought (or perhaps other listings) that really caught your eye and made you interested. :)

TIA!

Re: Guess I won't need to work out today!

  • Wow, busy day!  I remember really liking your condo when I came over last year. I grew up in your town and never knew what those condos looked like on the inside- I was pleasantly surprised and impressed!

We haven't bought yet, but we are looking at houses right now. So to answer your question... We tend to respond positively to clean, finished spaces. We've seen a lot of out of date places, like majorly out of date. We don't mind putting some work into a place, but having to change every room seems daunting. So if I remember correctly, you have a plus there. And it sounds like you're doing the right things with decluttering and touching up things and such. I like seeing simple decor, so I can imagine myself there and think about how *I* would use the space, not necessarily how they used it. Having it look tidy and smell nice helps too :)

    Good luck to you guys!

  • yes smell is huge i could not even imagine myself in a home w/ a smoke smell.  In the end we chose this house probably because it was w/in our price range and had good bones.  I realize that probably doesn't help.  The house was empty, so i think it helped me to envision myself living here.  In fact most of the houses we serisously considered were at least partially vacant.
