can anyone recommend a good obgyn for a friend that just found out she pregnant and is new in the area? ?She lives close to St. Marys if that makes a difference. ?Thanks!
Re: obgyn recs
I really loved my practice... NE OBGYN. I used Dr. Elizabeth King. She is young, a new mom, and someone you can really feel comfortable.
However, I had Dr. Mark Thompson for delivery... he was pretty good too, but at that point they are just a baby catcher

I see Farhart at NE OBGYN.?
Dr. Thompson is a hottie though!!! (edit to add- he looks way better in person than on his website pic- even my H thought he was a stud!) lolz

?
I and a few others on here go to Lonestar Obgyn. It's in the medical center so its fairly convenient to St. Mary's. I''ve been seeing Dr. Kethireddy and have loved her thus far. We'll see how she is at delivery on Tuesday!
This practice has about 6 OB's and 3 midwives and I think one other girl on here that goes to Lonestar is using one of the midwives.
I'm the midwife girl...I love them. ?I admit I was a bit skeptical at first...but it's a decision that I'm really glad we made.
?
I was a long time NE OB/GYN patient. ?I saw Dr. Ingrid Skop...went to see Dr. King (like her...) but went with Lonestar Midwives...I adore the time and attention we get with them. ?They also do well checks and such...so you can see them on a yearly basis. ?They work closely with Lonestar...and I've heard really good things about their practice, from this board as well as a good friend who is seeing them right now...
?
Good luck. ?Let me know if you have any other questions.?
I have literally seen every Dr. at NE obgyn. My actual Dr. is Dr. Murdock. I like her but she's really hard to get into. I also really like Dr. Womack there. She is really nice and helpful. Dr. Thompson is cute and really funny (he did our big ultrasound and kept pointing out the boy's "weiner". Dr. Farhart is super nice and really on top of things. He got my PIH diagnosed and put me on medicine. Dr. King is really sweet and nice however I think she is pregnant and having her baby in March. I'm not sure how that effects her work after that. I have not actually seen Dr. Theis (so not every Dr.).?
I will say I don't like the high-risk dr. they send you to from NE obgyn. She is not in the same practice and hopefully not many people have to see her. She's very nice, but Nate and I both think she is pretty useless when it comes to info.?
It is NOT normal to not see your own Dr. there. I've just had a wild ride of a pregnancy and that is why I've seen so many different people.
I will also say that I saw Dr. Murdock while I was pregnant (I was really sick and they wanted me to come in) she was fabulous and Dr. Theis was also really great the one appointment I didn't have with Dr. King (she was on vacation).
My husband liked the reading material in Dr.Murdock's room the best (they put their own stuff in their rooms) if that counts for anything.
