Moms of boys - question re:diapers

Hi Ladies!

I am wondering if you can recommend your brand of diapers for me, please? Collin has been in Pampers since day 1 and I loved the swaddlers but we just moved him up to the size 3 cruisers and I'm not sure how I feel about them. They are not to small but he's leaked through several times. Thats not something I want to deal with!

So, if you have a baby boy in size 3 or bigger, can you tell me what diaper you prefer? Pampers cruisers? Huggies? Another?

 Thanks!

Re: Moms of boys - question re:diapers

  • My little dude is still in Swaddlers, but when faced with the same issue, my SIL tried the Baby Dry and had better luck with them for her boy. Huggies didn't work well for us at all. I know of several boy moms who swear by Target brand diapers, too.
  • My boy is now in Size 5's... and I have still pretty much been a Pampers user.  I use Baby Dry for during the day and Cruisers for naptime and overnights because they actually are better.  I never liked Huggies for him because the legs were always too gappy for his legs that were small.  (not so much anymore, but I stick to what I know)

Now.. that being said... I also recently have tried Huggies Overnights... and they are OK.  Not great, but ok.  And I got a thing of Target brand diapers and I am using those during the day - so far no real complaints.  I feel the leg area could be a little more elastic, but we haven't had a big problem yet.  (just trying to save money with #2 coming)

  • We use Pampers baby dry right now... size 3...

I have used the Target brand as well when he was a size 2 and they worked well... we just have a stockpile if pampers so we haven't bought anymore.  I have a box of size 4 cruisers so I'll be interested to see the difference between them and the baby dry... when Ryan was leaking through the diapers we moved him to the next size up even though he wasn't quite at the weight for the next size and that eliminated the problem.

  • As soon as Austin was out of the pampers swaddlers we have used Target brand - sometimes we have to go a size bigger than the weight requirements, but no problems so far with them...although we change Austin after he wakes from every nap, so I don't know how long you could go with one on during the day - we also use the Huggies overnights, one size up for night-time and they have worked good so far, if he leaks through it, we know it is time to go to another size - GL!
  • Alex has been a pampers boy. We use cruisers (size 4 now) and MIL keeps baby dry at her house. I dont' care for the baby dry, personally, but they seem to work okay when we see them on him.

    ?

We use huggies overnights for overnight. :) ?HTH!?

  • My little guy wore swaddlers and then some pampers that we were given.  Since he was a few months old he has worn BJs brand and I love them.  We've only had a couple leaks after months and months.  At night however, he wears Huggies Overnights.
  • Andy's at size 5 now, and we've always used Huggies, Gentle Care then Natural Fit. We can always tell when it's time to go up a size when he starts peeing through.
  • We use Luvs b/c they are the cheapest of the name brands and I have always liked them, no leaks.  We use Huggies Overnight for nighttime.
  • Nothing is as good as swaddlers!  Once Owen was out of swaddlers I used Cruisers & wasn't thrilled w/ them, so I tried everything else there was.  Nothing worked, he leaked through everything!  Went back to Cruisers & that is what we have stuck w/.  I still don't like them as much as Swaddlers, but they are the next best thing. We use Huggies Overnights for nighttime (usually w/ a diaper doubler).  I don't pay too much attention to the weights, Owen has been in 4s for months & months & is just at the low end of the weight.
  • We use pampers baby dry and so far they have been my favorite, even over swaddlers (Jordan got a weird rash from the mesh inside swaddlers--though they did fit nice...). But, every babe is different, so you gotta try different things. OH, and at daycare they use the Sam's brand, and they seem to work really well...we've talked about switching to those but I just can't seem to give up my pampers!!!!!
  • I can only use Huggies for my boys.  Evalyn never leaked through, but I have tried every brand and Huggies are the only ones that have worked for me.
  • SIL uses Baby Dry for her boys and Huggies Overnights. GL!
