hi! philly nestie moving to LA

Re: hi! philly nestie moving to LA
Tons of places to go and eat...you are in a great place.
You should definitely start at the Farmers Market....which is a fabulous place to go and stroll and eat your way through it. Next door is the Grove, shopping, walking, celebrity sightings...etc.

yep, i'll be working downtown, and dh will be working on the miracle mile (we're moving for his job) i'm super excited for the grove-we're also only about 1/2 a mile from Larchmont Village, and I know they have a farmer's market on Sundays-anyone know anything about it?
Welcome again! Larchmont is a great area with lots of little restaurants and shops. You are also near West Hollywood which has tons of fab restaurants. I don't know about the Farmer's Market in LV - but there is a huge one in Hollywood on the weekends near Vine and Sunset.
The Grove is a great place to start although the parking sucks. I remember you have kids, right? You are close to the museums, too!
Welcome!
I live near that area, so let me know if you want to get together at some point for coffee or something... nest.insomniac@gmail.com?
Welcome Meldot! I live in Silverlake which is about 3 miles from the larchmont area. Larchmont Village is a great street with adorable shops and cafes, like others have mentioned the Grove is fabulous, inside the Grove there is Whisper Lounge which is a really cute place for a glass of wine after a movie. Other low key bars in your area are:?
St Nicks Bar 8450 W. 3rd St more like a local pub w/bar food
Tasca Wine Bar 8108 W. 3rd St upscale wine bar w/food
El Carmen 8138 W 3rd St. bar with delicious mexican food ?
Jones 7205 Santa Monica Blvd West Hollywood italian restaurant w/bustling bar scene (more "Hollywood-y")
AND for my favorites:
Lou Wine Bar & Restaurant 724 Vine St (at Melrose) a hidden wine bar with cheese/charcuterie dishes
La Buca 5210 1/2 Melrose my favorite italian restaurant.....ever. Run by an italian family and Mama actually cooks in the kitchen. Full bar. Upstairs dining room with open ceiling and fireplace...very romantic ?
