MRSD...

Sorry I'm just now getting back to you... If you read my blog (which it's ok if you haven't) I've been sick...VERY sick and haven't been on here in a while. I'm better now...but just wanted to aplogize for not responding and let you know I have good reason.

It is a flooring company... but he also does general contrsuction, like remodeling and such. His current job actually is a bathroom remodel so he pretty much does it all- he just prefers flooring lol

Might I ask why?

Re: MRSD...

  • Aww. I'm so sorry you've been feeling yucky. Glad you're better though.

Sure, the reason I asked is that DH and I have been tossing around the idea of redoing our downstairs flooring-our house is 3 years old and we want to look at changing the carpet out for pergo or some type of hardwood similarity. We're also thinking of changing the laminante (sp) in our kitchen for tile. -This isn't going to be anything immediate, but I did want to ask before we got too far into these ideas and I'd had the wrong idea about your DH's company.
I thought I'd remembered you saying that B had a flooring company but I wanted to double check. do you think at some point it'd be possible to work out a time/date to have you two over and get B to take a look at what we're thinking about doing/give us an estimate???
Let me know what you think!!
    Thanks.

    Big Smile

  • yeh! that sounds great... I love woods and tile anyday over carpets and laminate...more durable, cheaper now-a-days, good investment all in all.

I'll just give you some info about him and his company so you at least have some good info on him... He has been doing flooring for 10+ years, he garantees his work (meaning if he wouldn't leave the work he did in his own house, he won't leave it in yours- and if it isn't top quality work he will tear it up and replace it for free, and even down the road if a tile breaks or chips- which rarely happens- he will come repair it for free also.), He does wood, tile, brick, stone, rock and pavers (also general contruction too, but his company is REALLY about flooring). He is garanteed to beat any major competitors price, and he does free estimates.

So yeh he would be more than happy to come out and give you guys and estimate so you can kind of get an idea of costs and all... I'll message you with Brian's info and you can either call him or just let me know what days you two are free and we can go from their- whatever you choose is good with me! :)

  • Does he do bathroom tiles on walls too? And backsplashes?

I'm not in immediate need for anything done, but I eventually want to do some tile in my bathroom... just pull up the laminate floors and replace with tile and do tile part way up the walls.

I eventually want to do my kitchen floors too... *sigh* if only that money tree would start blooming.

  • yeh I know how you feel about the money tree.. almost 40 huge oaks in our yard and none produce $$... I'm gonna blame it on the drought ;)

but anyway...yes ma'am he does backsplashes and tile showers too. In fact the bathroom he is working on now is tiling a shower and up next is a backsplash for my sister :) ..those and fireplaces are mostly what is getting done now-a-days. (he does wood too) In fact, once he did a bathroom (for a rich person nonetheless whom must've had better blooms than us lol) COMPLETELY in tile. I'm talking floor, wall, ceiling...it was one HUGE shower with a drain in the middle. it was rather odd..but still really cool...

I messaging you both his number now... even if you aren't prepaired to do it ASAP it wouldn't hurt to have his number handy and even get an estimate  (since they are free) so you'll know what to plan on spending when the time does roll around!

  • Sounds good. I just sent you a reply PM, but I really like the idea of trying to meet up for dinner one night. Maybe the 6 of us can meet up and have dinner one weekend...maybe sometime in February??? Let me know what you two think.
    Big Smile
  • Feb is pretty clear for me except the 14th (of course) and the 7th but any other night fridays or saturdays, we're free...sounds fun!
