What are your takes on choosing a donor that is positive or negative for CMV? I have been tryin to read up on the subject but it is somewhat confusing - I can't figure out if it can be harmful to the baby out of utero or the fetus in utero, or anytime in the child's life for that matter.
Thanks in advance.

I think the simplist thing is to just go with a CMV negative donor.
We had our eye on a CMV positive donor, so I got tested. It was a simple blood test and my greedy insurance covered it. I'm negative, so our positive donor option was out.
Good question!
I didn't realize the way it worked... thanks so much for the links and experience
I didn't even know what it was until this morning when I was sifting through websites.
