What's your FAVORITE part of winter in the Chicago area?

I really don't like winter at all (which is why I started this poll.. I'm hoping to find something to cheer me up), but I figure I should answer my own poll.

I like cuddling with DH because he hates the cold as much as I do.

Honestly? ?Really snowy weekends. ?But that's because I'm in the city, not the burbs, so I don't have to drive anywhere and can walk or take the CTA if I absolutely have to go somewhere. ?There's something so relaxing about watching snow fall while cuddled up on the couch with a nice hot chocolate that can't be beat! ?And also knowing how AMAZING this city is in the spring/summer/fall makes it all worth it. ?It's like we're being tested for worthiness of all the treats it has to offer or something. ?: )))

I have to admit, I hate the winters.  I like the first snow, its so pretty, but after awhile I get sick of it.  I love snuggling on the couch watching movies with my husband.

i hate winters here too.  the cold just sucks!  i do love sitting at home on a friday night with the fireplace going, and ordering in good food, a nice bottle of red wine and chillin with DH.

I hate winter but I agree with another poster that the city is so wonderful in fall/spring/summer that winter is just something we get through to live in this great area... I am in the burbs so this past weekend when DH and I were downtown for Wicked we walked along the streets and saw all the great Christmas Lights and the hustle and bustle of the city.. it was great!  I love Chicago so therefore I guess I can grow to tolerate a Chicago Winter!

I hate winters here, so my favorite part would be staying inside in a warm blanket on the couch with my husband.

Ditto pps, cuddling on the couch, fire in the fireplace, red wine.  Snowy weekends, how pretty it looks when you don't have to go out in it. And crappy winters only make me appreciate the warm summers even more.

 Oh, and the other thing I appreciate about winter is that I actually tend to lose weight.  I know, it's backward, but I usually gain weight in the summer due to all the happy hours, patio dining at restaurants, etc. in this fabulous city.

I really don't like winter either, but I love being off after a snow and sitting inside with a hot chocolate being a bum. I do like the way everything looks right after a snow- if I get to stay in and look at it!

Since having a baby, the winter has become 10X more of a PITA than it used to be.  I've become a real homebody.  I love staying inside, sipping hot chocolate, and watching other people shovel their cars out.

I like watching the snow fall but I don't like digging my car out.

The lights downtown are nice too ?
