XP: Smoky Mountain Vacation

I'm starting to think about a vacation to the smoky mtns and have been looking online at cabin rentals.  There are so many to choose from, can anyone recommend some nice cabins that aren't in the heart of Gatlinburg or any other city? You can't really tell what you'll be getting by looking online. Thanks!

Re: XP: Smoky Mountain Vacation

  • I've stayed with Alpine Chalets in their Alexandra's Mountain Dream (or something like that) and had a great time. It's up the mountain a little bit but still pretty accessible. The trolly thinger that goes up the mountain passes right over head  but personally I kinda thought that was cool.

  • I found one on VRBO that was in Pigeon Forge. http://www.vrbo.com/146038

We stayed there and had a great time though it was in the heart of Pigeon Forge. If you looking for animal friendly there's a lot on VRBO. HTH

  • Check out my bio (link in siggy) under the "Our Travels" section. I have lots of reviews for the Smoky Mountain area at the bottom of that page. Page me or leave a message in my blog if you have any specific questions that I can help with.

  • I live right here in the Smoky Mtns. well close to them. I would suggest looking in Townsend or Sevierville for cabin rentals... they may not be way up in the mountains but they're less popular and more scenic. I am still new to the area so I don't of specific cabins to suggest. Good luck and enjoy your visit.
