B'Ham girls
So my appt at UAB is this afternoon. Its downtown on 6th Street.
My ? is where could be go eat for dinner afterwards? My DH doesn't eat Chinese or Japanese or Sushi 
I figure we might as well have a nice dinner after a stressful day.

Jim and Nicks is on 11th Avenue in 5 Points South. If you want to venture towards Brookwood Mall you could go to Brio or Cocina Superior - both are yummy. If you like pizza you can try Davenports in Mt. Brook or New York Pizza in Homewood. A good Italian restaurant near UAB is Giuseppe's - 925 8th St. S

Ditto pp. Also, there's 26, Ocean, and Cobb Lane down from 5 Points South on 20th Street. 26 and Ocean are seafood places. Cobb Lane is such a sweet restaurant and the rolls are awesome. Up the road in Lakeview are the Lakeview Oyster House, Little Savannah, and Silvertron. I haven't been to the last two (they're on my to-eat list), but the Oyster House is really good.

Everyone had great suggestions. The Fish Market is the closest to UAB, it's on 6th ave across from Kirklin Clinic. Also, if you get on 21st St and keep going past Vulcan, you'll be in Homewood . If you look to your left you'll see a big building, that's the Soho complex and it has a restaurant called Jackson's that is really good.

Mmmm! I second Cocina Superior! Soooo good! I like their fish soft tacos and their fajitas.
A word of warning though, Cocina Superior isn't typical mexican food. It's baja style mexican so the choices are a little different than what you would expect.
I second Lakeview Oyster House. It is so yummy. Cocina Superior is a great choice as well. Also, if you want a great fish taco try Rojo. Its a very laid back bar type and great food at decent prices. I will warn you though the bathroom is bar scary
However, the mahi mahi tacos are fab (as well as the chicken).
