what's for dinner tonight?
I need some new ideas! There's only so many ways you can doll up chicken breasts before you want to throw up.
Does anyone have any good recipes for ground turkey? It's on sale at Vons this week and I stocked up, trouble is the only thing I use it for are Swedish meatballs, and I sub turkey meatballs in for chicken in Hungarian Paprikash.
It may be time to swap recipes again!
Re: what's for dinner tonight?
I threw a pot roast in the crockpot this morning. It smells so good that I can't wait until dinner.
I use ground turkey in just about every dish you would normally use ground beef. The kids love turkey tacos and burritos and spaghetti with turkey meat sauce. Turkey meatloaf was only so-so but it makes good burgers too.
We're having TJ's Orange chicken(delish) and Chow Mein(haven't tried it yet!) and green beans(cuz they wanna go to the party in my tummy. lol.).
I've used ground turkey in lasagna and also in a marinara(meat) sauce. I've also used it to make a slow cooked chili.
Sorry I'm not much of a help, I just can't think of too many things to do with it. I'm not really a fan of it on it's own, it's usually too dry and blah for my taste.
I was going to suggest Turkey Tacos. I just made Ground Chicken tacos the other night (cause the ground chicken was on sale at Vons too) and they were delish! Also you could do chili, spaghetti... hmmm lasagna?
Tonight I'm on my own cause DH is working an overnight shift. Poor guy has been at work since 6 am.
I need to be marinating my chicken, but I'm nesting instead! I'm doing BBQ chicken and baked potatoes w/ a salad. Can't wait because I'm ALWAYS hungry now.
I use ground turkey in everything I would use beef. Chilli, tacos, taco salad (I make that alot), burgers, spagehtti...anything really!
