My local board has been chatting a lot about food/groceries/menus/etc and it got me thinking about a receipe post.
K and I have agreed to start sitting down on Sunday mornings with the newspaper ads and create a weekly menu based on sale items. I think this will help with our budget and all just save some stress each night not having to ask "what's for dinner?".
To go along with this I thought it might be fun to do a weekly "Foodie Friday" post where we all post receipes (w/ pictures if possible) of something we like to make, or made the week prior. I know I'm always looking for new ideas, but also ones that other people have vouched for. So what do you think? Shall we try it tomorrow and see how it goes?
P.S. I was thinking Friday so that the post would be easy to reference on Saturday or Sunday during the menu planning session. Cool?
Re: New weekly post idea
i like! in addition can we post our weekly meal plans? Monday Menus perhaps? lol

um....how about if you all post amazing recipies, and i'll just watch and steal them to make horrible versions that c will eat and pretend to like?
ok, i'm not quite that bad. but i am not the cook of this house. although i did make chicken and dumplings that c says were not actually dumplings on sunday, and that turned out really well and i've been trying to be more involved in the kitchen. we've been talking about doing a weekly menu for months now. one of these days we'll actually do it...
I think posting our weekly meal plans sounds like a GREAT idea. Julie and I have just started this, and it's working wonderfully.
sounds great to me. We usually make something that lasts for most of the week, eat out once a week and have a quick meal plan for another night or 2. I would love new ideas for supper. Also new ideas for lunch are always great. I am looking forward to it!
I'm in but wont have much to contribute with my extreme lack of culinary skills
Thats T's department
I'll just look and remember the days when we used to eat dinner.
Now, we fix something quick for the kids (since I don't get home till nearly 6) and then we may or may not have a bowl of cereal, a frozen pizza, or something at 8:30, after the kids have gone to bed.
But I do love reading about food!
