BD spoiler question

How would you have done the battle? I like the mental battle SM wrote, but I'm curious how those who wanted a physical battle would have liked to see it turn out. How many characters do you think would be left standing??

I can't imagine all of the Cullens surviving, and I don't see how a "mate" would survive if the other was killed. In fact, I don't see how the family would go on similarly if they lost someone(s).

Discuss.?

Re: BD spoiler question

  • I think that they way she handled it was perfect. I didn't want a HP-ish ending "And then everyone dies"

Agreed, I'm glad that nobody died!

  • I could have dealt with the loss of a werewolf or two. And of course lots of Volturi.

  • hmm..i never thought about a physical battle. i thought that scene was well written. no complaints here!
  • Same here.  While I thought that it was a little outlandish to suggest, after all the build-up that the Volturi was so big and bad, that they would just say "oh well you're right Cullens and we're wrong.  See ya!" I was more than thrilled that none of my beloved Cullens died.

I'm a sucker for a happy ending and SM did deliver that.

P.S. If someone HAD to die, I'm with JCam, I would have not lost sleep if some werewolves and some Volturi died.

Well, yeah - although, not Seth! But I think it would have made less sense if the Cullens were able to survive it all unharmed when others died. ?

  • Vampires can be put back together, I would have liked to see a few ripped up before the battle ended. Then have the Cullens win & put whomever back together.

I would have a few wolves die, either Jane or Alic, as well as the one who kept the Volturi loyal. Then at the end of the battle I would have one of the main volturi die because the group was becoming less loyal and protecting themselves instead of the elders. When the other two realized this they surrender & leave.

It would have been REALLY suspensful to think some of the main Cullens were dead & then have them put back together for the happy ending.

I must admit to wondering why that detail was revealed with no real point as to why - I thought for sure we'd hear somehow about someone being put back together.

Funny enough, doesn't Jacob make a Humpty Dumpty reference when Bella's dying/being vampified??

  • EXACTLY! why bring it up when NO one is ever put back together?

Anyway... these are my idea's if I get that far in re-writing lol...in ten years. *sigh*
