So I was at my Dr. Yesterday for my annual gynecological exam. ?We were speaking about TTC #2. ?He told me the best way to increase my fertility is to lose 10% of my body weight. ?We haven't really been TTC, but we haven't been preventing, since May.
So... ?I need to get my ass in gear and lose some weight. ?My actual goal is 20 lbs, but that is more than the 10% my Dr. suggested.
Any suggestions? ?I have an elliptical but I am thinking more along the lines of getting my butt over to the rose bowl and walking it!?
Over on MM they are talking about the 30 day shred, but I don't have comcast, I have directv, they don't have on demand anything!?
Re: Weight Loss
Directv has On Demand service. You have to run your receiver through your router but it's free to use. I haven't seen 30 Day Shred on their listings, but there are some other workouts on there. Also, Target has the 30 Day Shred dvds on sale for $13 through Saturday if you want to pick it up.
EDIT: You have to have the HD reciever and service to access the On Demand service through Directv.
Ah... ?too bad we don't have the HD service, no HDTV yet :-(?
I lost 50lbs over about 3 months by eating 1100-1500 calories per day, and working out 4-5x per week doing intervals for 40 minutes then some free weights & stretching for 20. I did intervals on the treadmill but you could easily do it at the rose bowl too! Just walk for 2-3 minutes run for 1-2 miunutes. As you get stronger you can increase the running time. This method "tricks" your body into burning more calories even while you are walking because your heart rate stays up.?
?I eat pretty much the same thing everyday- here is an example:
Breakfast: 1 lowfat yogurt 1 piece wheat toast w/1tablespoon raw almond butter, 1 cup coffee
Lunch: Some sort of green salad with chicken (no cheese/crutons etc) or I go to kookooroo and get 1 chicken breast with a side of broccoli and black beans or a yam
Dinner: chicken breast or fish with steamed vegis and 1 cup quinoa or brown rice
snacks: vanilla protien shake (in a can from TJ's only 110 calories 1 gram fat)?
Dessert: tofutti's (the non dairy icecream sandwiches from TJ's!)
You will probably loose 2lbs or so a week, so for 20lbs a little over 2 months! Keep us posted on your success! ?
