I saw your post last night. I love Ashlee's name (and more so the spelling). We decided on it. My only boo over the whole thing was the WEEK after Ashlee was born Ashlee Simpson released her first album. I was so pissy. I said to DH people are going to think we did the spelling this way because of her! Damn people who try to be famous LOL
OT- I agree- not many people spell it that way. I got in a *** of a fight with my mom at Christmas. It was a big year for Ashlee since she learned to spell and write her name already (very exciting). So what does my mom do- buys her this cute puzzle with the name Ashley on it. I was like- "ummm, that's not her name." She said "well I can't find it with that spelling", "ok, then don't get it" She couldn't believe I was annoyed over it. Ashlee even commented. It's my name mommy- but it's not. I donated it to goodwill right after christmas. Maybe I was making too big a deal, but it bothered me.
Re: ~Pastor'swife~
::butting in:: That would really piss me off if my own mother got something with the wrong spelling - you have every right to be mad about that!
And now that what's her face named her daughter Maddie (short for Madeline though) I am afraid people would think I wanted to name my daughter that because of her! MH thinks I'm crazy but I in no way want to be associated with some teeny bopper's naming trends haha
I am drawing a black- who named their daughter Maddie? I HATE when people call my Madison Maddie- I can't stand it.
You have to understand my mom though too. She picks up the most random things for then as some "little" extras for xmas. Last year Madison got a doll. And my mom was like "I can't understand what she is singing" and I waslike "That is because she is singing in Spanish" That one we still make fun of her over!

LOL That is awesome, and so sad that she didn't realize it wasn't English
Jamie Lynn Spears named her daughter Madeline (we want to use Madison) and calls her Maddie. I have ALWAYS wanted to have a daughter with the nickname Maddie, so I figured the name would be Madison or Madeline. MH doesn't like Madeline, but loves Madison, so that's the one.
The thing is I am not the type who has all the names picked out or anything, I have just always loved the name Maddie, and we got to talking about it one day and he likes it too. But when Jamie Lynn named her daughter that I was like oh my god I will be so pissed if anyone thinks we copied her! Haha
It is funny. DH and I decided almost immediately what boys names we wanted Zachary or Justin (we figured if the baby was a boy one would fit better than theother when we saw him) and completely struggled with girls names. Madison was the only one we came up with the first time that we could agree on (obviously it was a girl). I wanted McKenna for Ashlee- he though Madison and McKenna was precocious (but I wanted to call her Kenna). I think we decided on Ashlee (he wanted Ashley and I demanded it at least be spelled differently) the day before we had Ashlee. Go figure 2 girls (we didn't know ahead of time with either). Never got to use our Zachary or Justin.
You're not pg yet right? Madison will still be cool when you are!

Not yet, and thanks to this damn ecomony I don't know when we will be
I was hoping we would start trying this fall, but it doesn't look like we will be taking the trip we were planning on this summer anymore. It's another cross country road trip, something we definitely have to do BEFORE we have kids hahaha, and something we really really want to do.
But I am hoping that Madison isn't going to be a super trendy name, although it sorta is becoming one.. I hate following the trends too much. That said, no matter what as long as we have a girl we will use that name, we love it too much not to! I have even decided that unless it was one of my BFFs, I would still use the name even if someone else I knew used it lol
Those are cute names, and really good together! Here's hoping you have one of each!
I am afraid of one of our friends using Madison, and DH won't let me tell anyone, so no one would know better if they did! But unless someone has an oopsy baby, I'm about 99% sure we will be the first to start trying. So hopefully we won't have to worry about that haha
