Re: (#) Friday Check in

  • Ahhh Friday. Now comes the weekend, which is when I'm really tested. It's easy for me to be healthy during the week, but Friday night - Sunday morning is tough.

    B:Hardboiled egg, V8 juice

    L: Brown rice, morningstar burger

Snacks throughout day: carrots, celery, raisins

D: Dunno -- going to happy hour with work people so I will order a salad of some sort and try not to drink too much.

No gym today -- I take Friday as my one day off.

  • I'm really in a funk today, so I have to make sure not to eat just 'cause that. I wanted to pick up sushi and fruit salad for lunch, but I didn't have time to stop by the store this morning.

    B: Smoothie

    S: Kashi bar

L: black bean soup & Kashi crackers; clementines

    S: 2 clementines

D: leftover canneloni, and maybe a salad

Exercise: I slept in this morning on account of the national championship game last night, so I am planning to either do step or go swimming this evening. I am annoyed that the Y has classes in the pool right after work instead of open swim. I want to go before work, but I'm having a lot of issues with getting ready on time right now. And I don't want to have to wait until 7:30 or 8 every night. Harumph! I will definitely swim tomorrow and Sunday, though.

  • I've got to work tonight, so I'm just getting started on the day now (yes, at noon, lol).

About to head to the gym and will sit down and plan my meals when I get back. That's the bad thing about working nights and being in a gym or on a soccer field. It's not like I can nuke a Lean Cuisine at my desk. More often than not, I eat in my car...and try to find some sort of healthy fast food like Subway near my game.

Grr! And last night was rough--my mom's going through a hard time and I treated her for dinner last night. There was much wine involved. At least I have a few extra WW points to get me through the weekend...

  • I finally made it back to the gym! woo! Went slower thoguh because my calves are SO tight I didnt want to get hurt... so my HR wasnt up hardly at all - but at least I moved.

    B: eggs coffee

    L: chili

    D: salmon, bruss sprouts, salad

I made a whole wheat yeast bread with all sorts of good stuff in it (carrots, walnuts, ses seeds, sunfl seeds, raisins, cinn, etc) so maybe a pice of that too.

That sounds awesome... did you blog about it?  I totally want to try making it.

  • I had granola for breakfast.  That's as far as I've gotten.  I'm thinking tomato soup for lunch.  I've got bananas and clementines, so probably one of those for a snack.

I think we are meeting friends for dinner somewhere.  Probably Mexican, so I'll just do the best I can.

Not yet. Um look at my blog. And the dates. I suck! ;)

Y'all will get a kick out of where it is from though - my moms 1981 "whole foods for the whole family" by LaLeche League :) Good thing DH doesnt know what LLL is I dont think or he would be wondering why I have a book of theirs out ;)

Sidenote for whomever is still in here - I just learned yesterday from my mom that I have actually witnessed a home birth. She was there for an old friend of hers when her son Troy was born - I was 18 months old and in the room for it. NOW you see where my crunchy granola side with PG/birth/etc comes from ;) LOL!
