This was stolen from MM. We were just talking the other night of the things DH and I want to accomplish this year. Anyone want to share theirs?
2009 House/Financial Goals:
Pay off car loan and personal loan and then be debt free (except for mortgage)
Save enough money to pay cash for the bathroom remodel (we only have one and it's small!)
Complete the clean-out of the basement (and donate, or possibly hold a yardsale in the spring) so that we can be ready to refinish it, thought that probably won't happen for another couple years
2009 Personal Goals:
Take a cruise with DH either at the end of '09 or spring of '10 to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary and his college graduation
Spend more time outdoors with the dogs
Take a calligraphy class
Spend more time and effort in the garden this year
Lose this last pesky 15 lbs!!
Re: Post Your 2009 Plans
Fix up house to sell (PA)
Sell house! (PA)
pay off most if not all debt from sale of home
save $ for down payment on new house (20%+) (TX)
Keep in better contact with firends and family
Celebrate our 5 yr anniversary with a vowel renewal at Disney or in Charleston,SC
Lose much of the 50+ pounds Ive packed on since the beginning of the century.
Get pregnant
Focus in on what I want to do with my life.
Get a new job
Relax and enjoy things.
Let things go; don't dwell;hold grudges
I need to do this also. So much easier said than done though, unfortunately
Get new flooring downstairs and new carpet up the stairs and in all 3 bedrooms.
*Maybe* TTC #2 later this year.
Be more fiscally responsible.
1. finish my masters
2. pay off cc debt from ex
3. get a grown up job (or two)
4. possibly get a second dog
1. Finish my PhD this spring
2. Get my first "real" job
3. Move back east (depending on #2) and buy a house
4. TTC #2 after September
1. Get pregnant and start our family.
2. Be patient and be here in the "now" more. (This relates to number 1 and the emotional roller coaster that TTC can be at times)?
3. Re-paint our basement and downstairs bedroom and maybe build a wall with french doors to make it two seperate rooms.
4. Start saving for a 20% down payment for our next house, even if that is 3-5 years away.?
Most of mine are personal goals and they are:
Get through these last two difficult semesters of my post-bacc cert and complete my cert in December
Lose weight
Get pregnant (considering the medication helps me!)
Landscape front of the house and side of the house
Go on vacation with DH in June (we are booking it tomorrow!!!)
Golf more over the summer
Spend 15 minutes a day straightening the house
Buy a house (almost there!)
Save more
Get rockin' and rollin' on my Master's
Spend more time with hubby
Once we're in the house, fence in the yard so we can play with the dogs outside
Pay off DH's car and our credit cards (which will allow us to save more!)
possibly, just maybe... TTC #1 at the end of the year... depends on how much we can save up (this is realistically looking like 2010's goal)
Get in shape and be more healthy
Enjoy my time with DH more
Finish all of the classes for my PhD
Make progress at work
1. Set a financial five-year-plan for our family. DH and I have always each done our own thing with investments and such, but now that we have a baby to think about and I'll go down to part-time work for most of a year, I feel like we should get on the same page and figure out a plan for the next few years with regard to new expenses, retirement planning, college fund programs, wills and estate planning. Ugh, growing up is scary.
2. Transform the second bedroom into a nursery.
3. Maybe transform the sunroom into a playroom.
4. Have a healthy baby, then lose the baby weight ASAP
5. Do more surprise special things for DH. Not that I think he feels underappreciated, but I want to make an active effort to show and tell him how wonderful he is more regularly.
Good luck, ladies, with all your goals!
