Vanessa Hudgens auditioned for Leah Clearwater
So, the rumors might be true.... She's cute and all, just not at all like I'd pictured Leah in the books... I imagine her to be taller and not so dainty. Not big or anything, but more like me - tall, average weight, not frail.
MTV is reporting that, after speaking with Twilight star Ashley Greene at a Golden Globes afterparty, they've learned High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens has auditioned for the role of Leah Clearwater in New Moon:
Well, one of the rumored actresses in the running ? "High School Musical" starlet Vanessa Hudgens ? has apparently taken the next step and auditioned for the role, according to "Twilight" actress Ashley Greene.
We ran into Alice herself at a Golden Globes afterparty, and she told us she'd be happy to co-star with Hudgens. "I think she'd be great," Greene enthused.

Thank you Nanna. Also, I love HSM. I think VH is great...if she's playing a bubbly high school girl. Leah is NOT bubbly. She is broken hearted and because of that, she is basically a b!tch to everyone. I don't think VH can pull that off. I don't even want to think about it. booooo!

What was Leah's role in New Moon? I don't recall her storyline at all. I haven't read the books in a while, but I thought for sure that she wasn't a member of the pack until Eclipse. Can someone refresh my memory.
Maybe all of the Disney stars can get onboard for New Moon and they can turn the movie into a cheesy musical. Yay. That would be fun.
I can just picture the Jonas brothers as the volturi and breaking into a song before they feast on tourists. Maybe if we are lucky Ashley Tisdale can be in the movie somehow too. Heck, why don't they just throw in the Olson twins too...

I have wondered the same thing. All I can remember is that Bella learns what happened between Leah and Sam. I don't think she has much of a part at all.

Yeah I think that Kilcher girl would be good - at least she looks the part! And she was good in the New World.
I also don't remember Leah in NM except for explaining her and Sam's story, and maybe Bella just meeting her and she was a b*tch or something.
But I'm not feeling VH either...she is too much of a diva I think. I don't want her taking over!
