Twilight question (spoilers)

So, I can't stop thinking about this...

During the baseball scene, couldn't the Cullens just have said that Bella belonged to them?  Like she was their snack?  Wouldn't that have avoided the whole tracking thing with James?

And then Bella could have screamed and cried and said "Please don't kill me" and stuff. Eddie could have grabbed her by the hair and taken her away.

  • Exactly... they had advanced notice thanks to Alice.  If they're supposed to be so brilliant, they were seriously lacking in the common sense department!
  • Haha, I thought I was the only one who wondered about their reaction.  I completely agree with you!

  • I think they knew that the Cullens were vegitarians.

Yeah, but they could have a "slip-up".  Like when Emmett found his "singer" (the lady hanging out the laundry).  :)

  • Maybe the Cullens just didn't look hungry enough.  That and it would've made a very short series.

  • I think James's reaction was because of Edwards reaction.  Carlisle introduced her as part of his family.  When James got a whiff of her, he reacted.  Edward's natural instinct was to protect her.  That is what set James off.  No matter what was said next James would still have wanted Bella.

I agree--plus it makes for a better story this way! Smile

yes,,this is what i think as well

  • I wondered that myself, but then again. If they pretended to eat her & James wanted in on the action it would only take a fraction of a second for him to bite her so the Cullens would not want to take that chance. (just me rationalizing it)
  • FEEDING FRENZY!!

    Bella is delish.
