Re: POLL: MN MAKE UP
I'm a Clinique girl because I have super sensitive skin and it's been trustworthy for me since I was in high school.
My mom wears MN and always has...she seems to like it.
I guess I don't really have an opinion on it.
LOVE it! I have been using MN for about 12 years now and I love how much coverage I get with it. Much better than I ever had with Cover Girl and the like.
It's very expensive but it lasts a long time.
I was a Bobbi Brown follower until I had my makeup done at MN this summer for a wedding.
I love MN's powder. It gives great coverage. I also like their eye makeup.
MN: Love some of it, hate some of it...
Channel: Love some of it, hate some of it...
Lancome': Love some of it, hate some of it...
Mary Kay: Love some of it, hate some of it... and on and on...
Especially when talking foundations and skin care products...whether you will love it depends upon whether you get the correct product for your skintype...IMO their powder base and Total Finish should be banned from the planet...they are pure grease, but then I'm an oily person and it just would never work for me...some folks love those products.
There is usually something for everyone within each makeup line...it's finding a knowledgeable consultant who can guide you to those that are correct for you that will result in you loving or hating a line.
Some of it is good (to me). My mom wears it, and I used to have some things from there.
I only wear Chanel powder/foundation though. It is the only brand I've found that is exactly what I want.
I can't commit to one brand for everything - eyes, lips, cheeks, etc. I enjoy buying new makeup too much!
I don't "do" one brand either...it's too much fun to experiment.
It's pretty rare, but YES...there are those who cannot wear Clinique. I've always said, nothing out there works for everyone.
Meh, I'm apathetic at best.
I wear a lot of Benefit and a lot of Almay. My predicament is that I have an olive complexion and there are very few foundations out there that don't look pink or orange on my skin. Benefit and Almay both carry foundation that seems to compliment my coloring rather than contrast it. I wore benefit's line of base to powder (or whatever it's called) in stick form on my wedding day, but for budget reasons I tried almay's liquid foundation and found that I liked it just as much.
The one thing I didn't like about Benefit that I like about Almay is that it seems to work better with my skin- I always broke out using benefit but I've yet to (*knocks on wood*) with Almay.
I agree with pp, ultimately the brand doesn't matter as much as how well it compliments your skin.
I *like* it....but like Jane said...I don't like all of it! I mix and match my brands. I like MAC studio fix....I like liquid foundation from Lancome...I like Bare Minerals in the summer...I have a huge collection of eye and cheek colors from just about anyone you could imagine.
I have to be really careful about what "face" products I use. My skin is sensitive. MN does have a powder that I use. It and MAC are pretty gentle to my skin
