I am from the Charleston area originally, but moved back here this weekend after living out of state for 4 years at my husband's duty station. He's getting stationed in Charleston now, woohoo! I'm 23 weeks pregnant and need to get a referral to an OB/GYN here ASAP and would like to know if anyone on this board can recommend a good practice that accepts Tricare Prime insurance. I went to Lowcountry OB/GYN growing up in Mt. Pleasant, but they do not accept Tricare Prime so they're out of the question.
My mom found out MUSC's East Cooper Women's Center in Mt. Pleasant accepts Tricare Prime so she called them before I got down here and said they sounded very nice and said they'd love to have me and were accepting new patients at this time, so that's good, so if anyone knows anything about that practice, I'd love to hear your input.
I have an appointment with my new military PCM at the weapons station tomorrow morning to get the referral to an OB/GYN. I'd like to have a few back-up practices to list for 2nd and 3rd choices too, so any info on other practices in the area would be great. Thanks!
Re: Charleston OB/GYN's that accept Tricare Prime?
I go to an ob/gyn in North Charleston located across the street from Charleston Southern by Trident hospital. I know it is Dr. Christine Case (I think it is Coastal Women's Care) and her phone number is 843-572-5001. She also has a wonderful PA, April. The ladies there are wonderful. I am not sure what insurances they accept. Our is Blue Cross Blue Shield.
GL!
