So burned out!

For the past month (minus 2 days off for Christmas) my husband has been working all day, everyday. ?He starts around 8 or so when we all get up, works until i call him down for dinner, stays with us about an hour (including time to eat) then goes back upstairs and comes to bed anywhere between Midnight-3am. ?He is completely burned out from working so crazily, I am completely burned out from spending all day, everday with a toddler. ?I love my son, but he is into everything and anything. ?Luckily he takes 2 naps a day where I 'd love to nap, but thats when I have to get other stuff done like laundry, cleaning, dinner.... Lately I have looked forward to his bedtime because then I can sit mindlessly on the couch and not have to worry if hes getting into something. ?I feel like I need a vacation! ?My poor DH needs a vacation as well! ?I was supposed to be getting a massage and facial, but now that i'm pregnant, no massage for me until my second trimester. ?Okay, enough of my vent!

Re: So burned out!

  • unfortunately I know how you feel.... I love my babies but it is so hard some days and being by yourself with no adult interaction is hard.  Mine are still napping every couple of hours so at least I try to get on here for some "interaction".  I have a gift card for a massage but we will see when I can actually go.  I am hoping when they get bigger it will be easier.  I then get mad because I know how fast it is already going and I don't want to miss anything.  Well hope your week gets better and you and your Dh can spend some much needed down time togehter.
  • I'm so so so sorry:( I really don't know how some people do it with working so much alllllll the time. Being here in PA now is making me realize how much of a help it is to have family and friends around and it makes me REALLY want to start or get invoved in some sort of babysitting group. Just having my mom home over the holidays when I could go out for an hour or two by myself made such a huge difference - and that's WITH DH being home at night, not even like your who is working non-stop. If you ever just need a little break, feel free to send me an email and I'd gladly watch Eli for a bit for you. I know that's weird because it's the internet and all, but I'd really be more than happy to do it if you just need a little bit of time:)
  • Yikes!  What does your DH do?  Hopefully there is an end-point to the all-day, every-day work schedule?  Maybe you can look forward to a date night or weekend together if you can find a sitter?

    My sympathies!!
