Myrtle Beach Restaurant Suggestion

Goodevening ladies-

My husband and I are going to take our fourth trip to Myrtle Beach this year and we have done alot of the "touristy" restaurants, but we are really looking for something to enjoy directly on the water but reasonably priced, meaning I don't want to spend an outrageous amount of money, however we do enjoy quality food. Any good hometown recommendations?

P.S.- my husband and I really want to relocate to Myrtle Beach, however my business is having a hard time getting a location in South Carolina. I will just have to keep dreaming.

Re: Myrtle Beach Restaurant Suggestion

  • It's not on the ocean, but it is on a swamp... And they give you a basket of delicious bread to eat before your dinner and if you save some of the hush puppies you can feed them to the alligators and turtles in the swamp after dinner.  It's called The Chesapeake House and it's an older place but the food has always been fantastic.  We've gone there for years and never been disappointed.  It's on restaurant row.

  • This is also not on the water but has the best food i have ever eaten. Its Angelos. Its an Italian restaurant and a steak house. We always go twice each trip. Once for the Italian buffet and once for steaks.

  • If you would be willing to travel a little bit... there is a great rest. at Pawley's Island. I went there with my boyfriend and it was one of the better meals I have had! It as well is not on the water, but if you are looking for good food, I def. recc. it!

    It's called Frank's Restaurant.

They have another place beside it called Frank's Outback. (Go to Franks).

Here is the link to check it out if you'd like....

  • We have a beach house in Surfside and we like to go to Lattitude 22. It's on the water, above River City Cafe.

If you want to go to a VERY, nice upscale restaruant, try Divine Prime. We went up for a few days after Christmas and ate there for the first time. The food is amazing, presentation is beautiful. If you like wine, you're also in for a treat. DP is located in the new Market Commons (my new fav. place to shop). Expect to spend 150+ here, but it's worth every penny.

If you want amazing Italian, you must try The Villa Romana. It's more upscale, but not stuffy at all. The prices are amazing and you get homemade soup, salad, sourdough bread and marinara, and bruschetta along with your meal. We normally have a bottle of wine with dinner here and spend under $75.00. You won't be disappointed even though it isn't on the water.

The Gulf Stream Cafe is on the water. Nice atmosphere, view, etc. The food is decent.

The Hot Fish Club is fun and the restaurant is nice.

Drunken Jack's is pretty good and waterfront, as well.

Don't waste your time at Charleston Cafe. Overpriced, terrible food and atmosphere is just weird.

Don't go to Captian Dave's Dockside. It's absolutely beautiful there, they have wonderful service, but food isn't good at all. This one is located in Murrell's Inlet.

Last but not least, for a cheap and amazing breakfast, you have to eat at Surfside Jenny's. We go there several times during our stays at the beach house.

  • I live in Myrtle Beach but my favorite restaurants are in Murrells Inlet and Pawleys Island (where I grew up).  Go to Divine's Fish House in Murrells Inlet. It's right on the water (inlet, not the ocean) and the food is awesome! This is where I had my rehearsal dinner!!

In Pawleys Island, I second Frank's... it's a local favorite. Also if you like Japanese food (sushi, etc) go to Emi. It's not on the water but it is soooo good!!
