Book Recs for a 6 year old?
I'm looking for recommendations for books for a 6 year old boy. He isn't reading on his own, so something the parents can read to him. He says he is tired of his "baby" books and wants something a little more grown up. I'm clueless what to get.
TIA!
Re: Book Recs for a 6 year old?
Tomie dePaola and Chris vanAlsburg are super authors that I think a 6 year old boy would enjoy. The Frog and Toad stories are great too. Jan Brett is another author with some fun books.
Let me think a bit and I'll come up with some more!
I agree w/ the PPs recs. I work w/ K -3rd graders & they all love Dr Seuss books! Some other popular books/series are:
Little Critter
Arthur
Franklin
Bearnenstein Bears
Where The Wild Things Are
Click, Clack, Moo
Skippyjohn Jones
Diary of a Spider/Worm etc (I HATE these books, but the kids LOVE them!)
Alexender and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Flotsam
The Jolly Postman
Frederick and His Friends
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie/Pig a Party etc
Little Bear
Frog & Toad
Stellaluna
The Rainbow Fish
Hope that helps!
