Green Hills Neighborhood

Hi Ladies,

It looks like I might be moving in the next three weeks to Nashville to work with the company I am employed with at their Green Hills location.  I won't make much money so things will be tight at first.  I need to find an apartment asap and would prefer to look in either the Green Hills neighborhood or Hermitage. I would prefer to pay no more than 650 for rent.  Do you know of any great apartments that are nice in those neighborhoods that you could reccommend?

 Thank you!!!

Re: Green Hills Neighborhood

  • Green Hills is one of the most expensive areas of Nashville. I don't know what you'll get for $650. That said I wouldn't want to commute from Hermitage to GH. I would look over towards Bellevue. I'm sure others on here can help you with complexes.
  • FWIW-DH's ex was paying I think $1k/mo for a cute cottage in downtown Franklin just to give you an idea
  • I would check CraigsList.  I'm moving to Nashville next week and that's where I found the house we are renting.  Good luck!

  • I don't know if you can find somewhere safe in Nashville to rent for $650 period.  $900 rentals are on the cheap end over in SE Nashville where we are.

Ditto pp - check Craigslist and see what you can find.

  • If you truly don't mind commuting from Hermitage to Green Hills, you may be able to find something around $650. When DH & I move here about two years ago, we lived at The Cove on Priest Lake in Hermitage. Our rent was $850 for a 2 BR/2BA. The complex is fairly new (<10 yrs), gated, and offers many amenities. That said, your commute would be pretty awful.
  • DEFINITELY check Craigslist. ?It's the best way to find an apartment or house to rent that is not one of those big generic apartment complexes in the 'burbs. ?Personally, if I were you and worked in Green Hills, I would NOT want to live in Hermitage, that seems like a long commute. ?But I wouldn't want to live in Hermitage either way.
  • I highly doubt you could find anything to rent in Green Hills that was not a dump for $650.  As far as distance/time drive to work I would also recommend looking in Bellevue.

  • Ditto looking in Bellevue.  I lived at the Lakes of Bellevue before I got married and I *think* I paid $650 for a small 1 bedroom, but that was 5 yrs ago.  No way will you find anything for that price in Green Hills, unless you are willing to have a roommate.
