Introduction and mini vent

Before I get to my mini vent, I would like to introduce myself. I have been lurking on the nest since I got married in November and am glad to see this board has gotten busier. It was a graveyard before!

On to my vent, since when does being tired mean you are pregnant?!?! Seriously, EVERY time I say that I am tired, I get a million people asking if I'm pregnant! There are other reasons why I could be tired...grr!

Yes, I just got married, but that doesn't mean I'm going to be popping out kids anytime soon!

Re: Introduction and mini vent

  • Welcome. I lurk a lot but hesitant to post because this board got a little wacky a few months ago and didn't really want to be part of that...

Anyway, I know exactly what you mean. People think you are pregnant for any little reason...if you are hungry, tired, don't feel well.it gets very annoying and I don't think people shouldn throw that out there because you never know their situation...

My DH gets asked all the time when are we having kids.... he made me laugh because  when he is asked that question he now replies by saying "when the economy gets better"

    Keep warm!!!

  • Yeah, we tell them the truth - that we aren't financially ready to have a baby now. That does nothing b/c their reply is always, "but you just got married and got a ton of money from the wedding!"

Um yeah, we did OK, but how we spend that $$ is OUR business, not yours.....GRR!!

  • I hate this.  My mother in law is always asking when we are going to have a baby.  I've put on about 10 pounds since our wedding last Feb and she thinks its because I'm preggo.  It annoys me so much. We def. don't have enough money for a baby right now.  I love kids, but I'm not ready to be a mom.
  • We should be the new class of the Chicago board!?

I think the economy answer is the best one for TTA right now. :) I'll have to remember that.

No one IRL has asked me about it yet but I've been busy doing other things since our wedding, namely caring for my sister who was in a car accident. If I got pregnant right now several people (mostly from my family) would probably punch me in the face. haha

    Stay warm!?
