Help! Looking for things to do w/ 20 month old

Hi ladies,

I know this has been asked in the past, but here I go.  DS is getting cabin fever and this cold is not helping.  What are some fun, inexpensive/free things you do with your kiddos?  We are in central NH, but I'm familiar with and don't mind traveling to Manchester or Nashua.

THANKS!!!

Re: Help! Looking for things to do w/ 20 month old

  • It's hard this time of year, esp. if you are trying to keep your budget down.

Alex enjoys the indoor playground at the Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua, when I am in a pinch. Another nestie referred me to http://www.onemomsreview.net/ and I would def. recommend checking that out.

Sometimes, all Alex needs is to get out of the house. A good mall crawl (I get a coffee, he gets a donut or another treat) and he is totally content to be walked around in his stroller for a bit.  I will also (so long as there is no snow) take him to the park and let him just run outside in his coat, hat, and mittens. Granted, he can't stay out too long but it does take the edge off.

He also likes going to the bookstore, since he loves books. Most children's sections have a place that the kids can have quiet time/slight play in. Borders and B&N in Nashua are both like that. Also, in a pinch, both have refreshment areas.

Depending on how far you want to go, a lot of indoor playplaces will charge small rates for "day" play if you are not a member. Also, McDonalds and BK playplaces...most BK ones are too big for this age, but some McDonalds have smaller structures with their big ones for little ones.
