location for wedding anniversary

Hi Ladies!  I am originally from the STL area (currently live in Chicago) and wanting some ideas for a location for the 20th wedding anniversary for my mom and stepdad.  I think we'll have 50-ish people and probably just have apps and drinks.  Any thoughts/ideas would be great!!!!!

Re: location for wedding anniversary

  • Do you have a price range and a location (St Charles, downtown, north, south, IL side)?  You can do anything from a bar/grill to a banquet hall to an art gallery.  You can rent a place in the zoo or a museum.  I guess it just depends on what you're looking for.
  • probably South County area....I think our "ploy" is to tell them that my nephews are having a trivia night somewhere, because that could be fairly realistic,...and we know that they'll want to go....  So, I guess some sort of a hall or something where a trivia night "could" be held would be best,...but still open to any other suggestions...  Price range....????  Nothing too expensive,...but i know that nothing is ever cheap....so that's why we're thinking maybe just apps and beer/wine to help keep the costs down...

     Thanks!

  • My brother had his wedding reception many years ago at a banquet hall in South County called Genesis.  I'm not even sure if it's still open.  It certainly wasn't anything fancy or upscale, therefore the cost per head was very reasonable.

  • there is a hall type place in jefferson barrecks park. my friend was married there. it is smaller type place. my nieces took karate in it too. i don't know the name, sorry. if i think of more i will post them.
  • thanks so much for the suggestions...we will look into those...  My SIL had mentioned the JB place too,....so maybe that will be a winner!!

     Thanks again :)

  • Big Daddy's in Soulard has an upstairs private room that is very reasonable and would be a good size for 50 people.

  • thanks!  will look into that too.
