Clueless! What to get a 4 year old boy?

Hi ladies -

I need a gift for a 4 year old boy and I am totally clueless. Any suggestions? I'd like to spend around $30. No idea what he's in to, but his invites were Yo Gabba Gabba.

Thank you so much!

Re: Clueless! What to get a 4 year old boy?

  • I had this same issue a couple of weeks too, but I waited until the absolute last minute to make a trip to TRU. I ended up getting him one of those Brite Lite thingamajigs. Remember those?
  • I would suggest checking with the mom.  My initial reaction to your answer was Thomas & Friends trains!  For $30 you could get a train or 2 and he'd love them.
  • My 4 year old is into all kinds of super heroes, thomas the train currently is a HUGE Ben10 fan. But I would double check with Mom first like what Mia said. ?I personally like to give books and puzzles if they are into it.?
  • Thanks ladies! I have asked the mom several times and never responded, so it looks like Ijust have to guess... Ugh!
  • BTW - buying a toy shouldn't be this stressful :o)
  • My nephew loves this:

Not good if their are little kids in the house because of the marbles.

Or get him a sicence experiment kit. I got one for my nephew for his 4th birthday. It had all sorts of fun things and he did them all. One thing was he had to guess what would happen if you left a sandwich under your bed. So you put a piece of bread in a test tube and you have to check it every day. His whole family made their own hypotheses and then they kept track on a big poster in the bedroom. My nephew said it would turn in to bugs!

  • I am always a fan of giving books as gifts.  You could get a SkippyJon Jones Book or 2.  Those are fun books and a lot of parent don't know about those books yet.. so they chance of a duplicate book is slim.
